What decks & mixer do you have in your club?

Hi folks,

Just curious as to what equipment you use in the clubs you work at. Over here in Scotland over the last year or so I've not come across anything bar:

SL1210MK2's
Allen & Heath Xone 64
Pioneer CDJ1000Mk2's

Just wondering what your experience is in clubs.

Cheers

R.

not necessarily. Mondaybar in Stockholm have Numark TTX's, MOS in London have Stanton 150's apparently. A few other clubs around have the Vestax, Stanton or Numark. True they are in the vast (very vast) minority, but there are some inroads being made.

Mondaybar does not always have numarks. It depend a lot on whos playing that night but when Johnny Boy (mb crew) plays he has numark tables. And he often mixes 3-4 tracks together and its a shame hes not on djmags top100 every year.

The reason to why he is as good as unknown to everybody outside Sweden is mainly because he is a club/event promoter and he is focusing 100% on MondayBar, instead of promoting himself as a DJ and touring the world. Although there is no doubt that he'd be a well respected DJ worldwide if he entirely focused on DJ-ing instead.

almost all big clubs have Technics, and Pioneer cdj 1000's.

as for mixers, its usually Rane's Rotary, an Allen and Heath, and less and less these days a Pioneer djm 600.

I hope you'll fix me a gig next summer when I visit my relatives in Romania

was in turnmills last saturday, and the second room had a right thrown together setup, check this out

Pioneer DJM 3000 Rotary
1x 1210 Mk5g
1x 1210 Mk2
1x CDJ 1000 Mk1
1x CDJ 1000 Mk2

You'd think a club like turnmills, being one of the best known/popular clubs in london would have made a better effoer, even if it is for the second room

Club Laszlo's Bedroom:

3x Technics 1210
2x Pioneer CDJ-500S
Pioneer EFX-500
Numark DM3002X

Sky (Austin, TX)

2x Technics 1200 mkII
2x Pioneer CDJ1000
1x A&H Xone 464

Most clubs here in San Antonio use the 1200 mkII / DJM-600 setup. You're lucky to find one with CDJ1000s.

i find the vestax turntables a lot better than the technics, i just recently sold my pdx2000s and am having to use my old 1200s untill i have enough to buy pdx2300s which will be soon hopefully...

around melbourne the most common setup would be:

2x Technics 1200s mk2
2x CDJ 800/1000
1x DJM 600 / 1000 / a&h Xone 92

I do audio tech at a nightclub and we've got this stuff in the main booth:::

-2 technics mkii (black)
-1 technics m3d (silver)
-Rane MP2016 rotary 6-channel mixer
-Rane XP2016 expander
-Pioneer EFX-500
-2 Pioneer CDJ-1000 MKII

And this is the stuff that we have available to use...
-A&H Xone:62 mixer
-2 DN-S5000 CD players
-an extra technics mkii (black)
-a Pioneer DJM-500 mixer

In the downstairs room booth, we've got...
-2 Technics m3d (silver)
-Rane MP2016 rotary 6-channel mixer
-Rane XP2016 expander
-2 Pioneer CDJ-1000 MKII

shweet gear to work with.... but the rane has inherant problems that nightclub use can cause such a mixer. It is nice however to be able to countersink the channel gains to make it so that the DJs can't red-line the system!!... hahah!

Posted by spdandpwr on Jan-14-2006 04:57:

Gotham Citi:

2 Technics MKII
1 Rane 2016
A denon dual deck but forget which one

Posted by dj_lane on Jan-14-2006 08:55:

almost every club has 2 techs, and 1 DJM600, but others have 3 decks plus one or 2 cdj1000s

Posted by Nemesis44 on Jan-16-2006 21:59:

1 x Korg Kaos Pad

In clubs recently I have played on the following...

2 x Technics 1210 MkII
1 x Really beaten up Vestax PCV180 with que function not working properly.
1 busted up monitor

----------------------------

NYE venue 1
2 Techs yada yada yada
Some twat spilt bear on the Pioneer DJM500 so ended up using Gemini PMX03 as a last minute substitute (Freaking nightmare)

----------------------------

NYE venue 2
Two Tech 1210 Mk5
Pioneer DJM600
2 x CDJ1000
2 x AH VF1

----------------------------

----------------------------

1 Formula Sound FSM 600 mixer
1 x Tech 1200 mkII
1 x Tech 1210 Mk5
2 x CD Technics 1200s

----------------------------

And a whole range of gigs where the norm seems to be
2 techs
DJM 600
2 CDJ1000 Mk2

-----------------------------

Cheers

haha so true, i think the only place ive played where the equipment hasnt been shoddy in some way was the MoS.

at the students union where i play they have:

main room:

2 x CDJ1000 MKIIs
2 x Technics M3Ds
1 x Xone62

(they mainly play cheese in there though so only ever get the decks out for special occasions)

bar:
1 x Vestax PMC55 (teh fucked)
2 x Technics MkIIs (teh fucked)
1 x Denon DN1800Fs

yeah so i mainly play in the bar on the fucked equipment, meh, it worksish, enough to play ok on anyway, plus i still get paid but tis a pain.
