Pics from Digweed in San Francisco...

My pics for John Digweed & Jonathan Ojeda @ Spundae SF (Ruby Skye) - 01/06/06

Not a great batch of pics...but hey, I was having too much fun to focus on pics!! I really screwed up and had my ISO set at 1600 for some damn reason most of the time. So pissed about that.

It looks like he recorded the set, because I got what appears to be a recording device on top of everything in my pics...I must get this set!! See last pic below...

Haha thats happened to me before. Not as bad as shooting an entire night with the wrong white balance setting...causing everything to be blue!

Good pics none the less, gonna use some as background!

by the way how do you always manage to get behind the stage and dj at every event to take those photos???do they let you up there just to take those pics, or do you hang out up there all night long?

Well, it was a Spundae event and I help out Spundae quite a bit (though, I do not get paid by them. All voluntary.) so I get some access.

In general though (ie. non-spundae events), having a camera with a big ol' lens does help sometimes. I've gotten into areas easily just because of the camera. Security lets me by w/o even asking what I'm doing.

Before I had the camera and used to go to all kinds of venues ALL THE TIME, I pretty much knew the staff/promoters/security/DJs at all the places so I could get access (ie. DJ booth at Ten15) w/o many issues on most nights. Of course there were those nights where a superstart DJ would come in and not want anyone in the booth upon arrival.

Almost didnt recognize him @ Avalon...plus hes alot shorter than I thought!

Dave you could really use a flash diffuser or start bouncing it off walls more...it'll make the lighting look alot more natural

My shit always comes out so dark when I use my sto-fen omni bounce diffuser.

BTW, I usually do bounce it off the wall or ceiling. When it's off the ceiling, I get the bright crowd.

Haha thats weird...try adjusting the flash exposure compensation or using a bigger aperture.

Not dissing your pics cause most of them are just great, but a few have that 'head-on full flash' look...
