Thoughts on the Stanton VRM-10 Mixer?

Hi all,

I just acquired a Stanton VRM-10 mixer (still being shipped) and I was wondering what your thoughts on it are? I bought it on impulse and have only played around with one once for a brief moment. I guess I figured since everything else I use is Stanton, I might as well get the mixer lol. Anyhow, if anyone can tell me what to expect in turns of sound quality, fader quality...and other things of relevance, that would be awesome. How does it compare to a xone? A nuo 5? Those are all mixers I have owned or own so any comparisons between them would be nice.

My setup:

2x stanton str8-150
1 xone:92
12" powerbook
stanton final scratch 2
2x cdj 100s

Hey hello LizzleDizzle,

i just got a VRM-10 for myelf, i don't think you can find those mixers a lot arround. Buth i just love that mixer!
I never played with a xone92 or a nuo5, buth the filters on a VRM-10 are very nice, also the parametric eq is fun to play with!
It's overall build quality is very good and the valves give a very warm and good sound!
There is just one thing i don't like on the VRM-10 and that are it's 100mm faders, allthough i play funky house etc, i just think that the faders are just a bitt too long... I bought myself a DJM707 and those nice short faders are lot more fun to play with, buth i have to miss the filters and parametric eq's...

Overall it's a very nice mixer, buth does it justifies the price you have to pay for a new one? I don't know, my VRM-10 is for sale, how much did you pay yours?
I would like to try the nuo5 and the xone92 and compare them to the VRM-10

I got mine for a steal for 410 bucks. Selling yours? I think you would love the Nuo 5. Good shorter faders on that one.

just curious, but why would you buy a stanton mixer if you already have a xone:92?

I bought the Stanton mixer because it was so cheap...I also bought it because I wanted something new to play around with. I have never been able to use a mixer for any extended amount of time. I had a nuo 5 and loved it, sold it and bought a xone:92. Now I am kinda growing old on the xone and want to give the stanton a try. I fell in love with the stanton 2 years ago but couldn't afford it. I'm just a gear whore I guess.
