Another self interest lobby group trying to shut down entertainment district
These guys are the next islanders and i bet they will take cues from what just happened at the docks.
Check out this website full of hearsay and bias.

yeah, i dont think that will happen. way too much $$ involved and its not a unique situation like the docks. lets just hope the gang shootings stay clear of that clubbing district for a little while...probably too much to ask..
This page does not look unreasonable:

It's not an easy situation to solve but we believe that: - The kids should be able to have fun! - The residents should feel safe on their streets or sleep undisturbed while the party goes on! - Competent, law abiding club owners should be able to earn a profit from their ventures! |

| Residents in King-Spadina have been asking for this for nearly a decade it has taken nearly that long to convince the media that "clubland" isn't a "glam zone", it is a festering tenderloin of barely contained lawlessness populated by 80+ poorly regulated monster night clubs, and overrun by 30,000 to 60,000 partyers. The history of night clubs in this City going back for many, many decades is not good whether in "chi-chi" Yorkville or some secluded mall in the suburbs. They have always attracted trouble. Why? We've asked respectable, highly intelligent club owners what is it about your business that demands such intense internal security and Police coverage? You are surrounded by nearly 100 bars and restaurants that have no security and don't experience such violent, disruptive and destructive behaviour! No answer |

| Any nightclub, anywhere is trouble imagine 80 of these monsters in one small area! |
someone should remind those dumb ass residents that the problem does not lie within the entertainment and clubs and night life. The problem lies with the city and the government's inability to stop violence period. If you close all the clubs and close all means of entertainment you mean to tell me that there will be no violence ?? Give me a break. The violence will only increase because now you have all the people that used to go clubbing and what not wondering the streets looking to do something to get away from the normal daily stress of life.
These resident need to smacked upside the head and told that if they want a better safer neighbourhood with no violence they should stop blaming factors that have little or nothing to do with the violence and start taking action upon things such as demanding tough laws and tougher sentences against criminals and people who are involved in the violent activities.
this is why i say its important to make informed votes. Politics affects EVERY ASPECT of our lives whether we like it or not. And we have the power to change things in numbers. Problem is that young people dont vote so politicians only care about old foggies on toronto island and not about what YOU think.
