Has anybody checked out Furious Angels (the album)
just wondering if Rob D's album is worth getting.
The only two tracks ive heard are "Furious Angels" and "Clubbed To Death"
yes! you won't regret it if you have great taste in music. i garuntee it.
what style?
what style is the music? hard to describe. its basically trip hop beats over classical compositions. but theres alot more to it.
rob d is perfect for having a nice pre club hang out with some guys and girls.. just kicking it, mixing some nice drinks..
and its good for the afterparties.. solid stuff.
its not just hype.. rob d pwns.
here we go, the question that I dread the answer to....
is clubbed to death a remake of an old piece?
Furious Angels is definitely one of the best albums I own. Rob Dougan's voice takes some getting used to, not least because it's unusual but also because he really does go all out with his vocal performances. And I mean all out!
If that puts you off, and I hope it doesn't, then you'll be glad to know that, providing you get the 2xCD version, the second disc features only instrumental versions. But even without it, I really couldn't recommend this album enough. It's an understated masterpiece, and I'm delighted to learn that there will be a follow-up released this year.
EDIT: I believe that not just 'Clubbed to Death', but everything on the album is Rob Dougan's. The credits appear to mention that some tracks are inspired by other pieces, but that's all.
It's strictly mediocre. Overrated, boring breakbeats and stuff. Some classical touches.

i belive the entire melody is Elgars or another composers. Same goes with CTD2.
Buy, buy!
A superb album imo. The version of it which I purchased includes a CD of instrumentals. Don't know if that comes standard or not.
In the words of Mr. Dougan himself, his music is "antigenre." So, stop arguing about what it is!

I personally just like any of his instrumental stuff.
When I got his album I expected something very different, but found it awesome. He blends beats with classical in a great way and his voice sounds like a melodic pack-a-day smoker.
Definitely worth the buy.
