So, all those murders and persecution of my people for over 2000 years were all "ooops, formality error"???

Hmmm, interesting.

So, by extension, if I start murdering people and doing bad shit, I can say I'm just fulfilling God's plan by testing the faith of others. "Why God? Why did you allow this man to kill my brother?"

This is exactly what annoys me about The Church. They keep trying to put the supernatural in a box, so to speak. Here they are telling us what God's plan is. What hubris. Now I believe in God. I also believe that a good portion of the Christian doctrine probably has a great deal of truth to it. However debates on the subject of the true nature of Jesus and other such theological matters seem pointless to me and only serve to take attention away from the message on how to live your life, and that's the whole point isn't it?

I suppose it is necessary, in the end, for declarations like this because there are people who would take the Judas betrayal as a reason to hate Jews.

Well, not in our day and time. One has so many other reasons to hate Jews.

All depends if you believe Calvin's idea of pre-destination. His theory is if God is all knowing and all powerful that he knows who will be going to heaven and hell(become murderers and whatnot). He created us knowing what we would choose thus our lives were pre-determined before we were even created. Most protestants though do not believe in pre-destination, that our choices are outside the effect of God and that even if he knows our ultimate fate that we choose that fate freeingly.

More than likely these articles are expressing the opinions of a few men, more than likely the men that are responsible for releasing the book from Judas. If the vatican ends up believing this, the pope will knock some sense into them.

judas actually did betray jesus. the only weird thing is, the OT predicted it hundreds of years in advance. the vatican does not represent all of christianity but only those who are roman catholics, so when i hear something like this being announced, im skeptical. as far as im concerned, the catholic church has already dont enough damage to be taken seriously as the authoritative interpreter and representative of christianity.

Actually, it was Froddo who betrayed Anakin by pawning the ring instead of destroying it. This later lead to Obi Wan becomming a Jedi, instead of joining the HM Royal Marines. It's all in the scripture, you just have to read it.

Oh, and my religion (the one I just invented) is cooler than yours. Mine has people flying in flying saucers, teleporters, time machine, and when you get to the next level you get cooler weapons and you can waste sinners, and like when you're done you get to collect a prize. Not a fake trophy or something but an actual tangible prize. Depending on how many points you scored.

Judas made a choice. A choice between betraying Jesus for money or stying poor (if we can look at it this way).
a choice between a sandwich and a pizza.
between a buying or renting a house.


Its not because it was predicted that it means its God's plan.
so that means that fortune tellers can tell your part in God's plan.

you could also say that those jews who choosed to release Barrabas instead of Jesus when they had the chance was God's plan.

WELL YES... it was God's plan if Jesus was sent to teach us how to live in peace and stuff like that and being crucified to save our souls for us to learn.
