[House] Rob Turner - Jan 2k6 Demo: Your Moms House [aka My first house demo!]

Rob Turner - Your Moms House

**Link removed, Please PM me and I'll gladly get you a copy ASAP!

1. Sia - Numb (Paradise Soul Remix)
2. René Amesz - Fragile (Chris Lake Remix)
3. Bush II Bush - The Piano Track (MYNC Project Remix)
4. Deepgroove - Break of Dawn (Deepgroove Dub)
5. Chris Lake - Changes (Original Mix)
6. Freeform Five - No More Conversations (Mylo Remix)
7. James Talk - Get Down
8. New Ordinament – Dusty Little Kid Presents: Jerry Cala
9. The Spirits - Dirty Smile (Leo Mayhem And Roberto Fontolan Dream Mix)
10. Paradise Soul - Moscow Rendezvous

This is the first full fledged house demo I've ever put out and probably best represents what my "live" sound is like. There's one or two little hiccups in here, but for the most part it's just a funky set of house that I hope you kids all really dig... Feedback always appreciated...

Cheers,

Rob

looks like a good tracklisting so im gonna check this out.. nice opening track as well

Posted by Ted Promo on Jan-14-2006 02:11:

I'll grab it. The tracklist looks strong. Half of the tunes I have, the other half I don't

Overall pretty good. Only low point was the mix out of No More Conversations, and the two tracks after it. I actually like those tracks but it kinda dropped tempo there for me.

I still jammed out to it though

Glad you liked it for the most part man! Yeah I was trying to bring the pace back down a little bit there and then end it out a little slower than the middle, so the peak of the set was in the middle and the end kind of tapered off with a bit more chilled, but still funky feel...

Hahaha... I wanted the set to progress kind of like this:

Dirty/Evil--->Funky--->Clean

I don't know what I was thinking...

But it was fun to spin...

Werd. Thats what counts.

Fixed some issues with levels that I made a mistake with in the original mastering, link in first post now links to a re-mastered version (v2.0 ) of the set. Enjoy.

Well at least you know how much I appreciate the support... right?

And I'll have a full review for your latest tomorrow... It's already loaded up on the iPod for the trip back to Waukesha... From the early reviews it sounds like you outdid yourself again...

It'll be up later today, but for now, a bowl and a nap are in order!

And definitely be sure to let me know when you want your first CDJ mix review... I'm definitely damn excited to hear it...

Thanks Stu! It means a lot coming from a TA I've got quite a bit of respect for!

Thanks again to everyone who checked this out... Sorry about the compression, but it was the only way I could sort out one of my volume issues

Hope it was enjoyable none the less...

After the success of Afterhours I decided to give this one a listen. Unfortunately, I couldn’t share the same enthusiasm as I did with your Afterhours set. The first 30 minutes of this set wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon so I was about to scrap it until it finally picked up steam for the second half of this set. The mixing is great, but the music wasn’t up to par. Overall I was a little disappointed, but I’m always open-minded so hopefully you bring something new to the table next time.

well, i finally have a chance to write a short review for you Rob.

I listened to this a few times over. At first listen, I didn't like the first track but after a few more listens it became catchy and got into my head. I like the first few tracks and how they go together because it seems you picked tracks with similar elements to match. One thing I would say that this isn't a true house mix because it does have many trancy melodies and proggy baselines especially at the beginning. I like how you put in some of the more popular party house tracks at the end when the vibe of the mix has build up. The mixing overall is good, my boyfriend said that you can tell at a few spots where you a fighting the mix but it's negligable to me unless i'm really listening carefully.

Overall great turnout and a good driving CD.

you should have extended the evil part by at least one song.

at the end you don't need that much of a "clean" part.
