new Pioneer CDJ next week!

Heard from a source that Pioneer will be launching their next CDJ next week.

Not sure on the model number, but it will be very similar to the CDJ 1000, except will have mp3 support and some minor added features (i think a 1 bar loop like the 200).

Most likely, it will be revealed at NAMM (or the day before).. Less than a week for us to find out!

Hopefully this is true, cuz i wanna upgrade my CDJ200s to something with mp3 support!

i JUST bought 2 CDJ1000MKIIs lol

aw well - if it aint broke dont fix it. im happy

Posted by Freak on Jan-14-2006 19:05:

lol

i just bought 3 :

still, loop cutter is useless for me, as is MP3 support- have never ever played a track out in mp3 form despite having cd players capable of it. Always burn to cd as audio personally.

They might introduce it but I doubt it will be released right away, maybe by the end of the year? and I doubt many clubs or users who still use the CDJ 1000 (MK1 or MK2) will want to upgrade right away to something that just has minor changes to it. What Pioneer should do is make a new design (with many new features, and a newer look) and release it in the next three or four years.

cdj200 has mp3 support anyway
i didnt think many people burn tracks to cd as mp3 anyway pretty much everyone just burns tracks as cd audio

Would agree, going to a club with a stack of MP3 encoded CD-Rs to find they;ve got 1000's and you're screwed.

200s have mp3 support, but i think its only a certain kind of mp3 like vr4 or something. Dont quote me.

Posted by djshtr on Jan-15-2006 22:12:

cdj 200

never heard of vr4? I have the 200, and it will play a CBR MP3 up to 320kbps.

it doesn't officially support VBR, but it will still play them,.. you just can't loop or have true buffered start.. also does mpeg2, but i've never had to use it.

this is from pioneer:

MPEG-1: Supports Audio Layer-3 sampling frequency 32kHz, 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, Bitrate 32 Kbps ~ 320 Kbps.

MPEG-2: Supports Audio Layer-3 sampling frequency 16 kHz, 22.05 kHz, 24 kHz, Bitrate 16 Kbps ~ 160 Kbps.

Yep, a pioneer pro-dj source also informed me that they will release some new products soon

Posted by MERiDiAN5i2 on Jan-17-2006 20:29:

ah yes, the never-ended sales cycle of minor upgrades to drive people to spend massive amounts of cash for little reason.

i'd rather play on an original SL1200 from 1970 than any of these silly frame-dropping skip-tastic CD mixers.

Cant say Ive ever had my cdj skip or heard one skip in a club. But I agree that its pointless to release a new deck with a few minor upgrades. Although if it drives down the price of the 1000mkII then I dont mind at all.

Posted by Rijs on Jan-17-2006 22:14:

Can we, at least, wait for confirmation from Pioneer regarding the new products and their specifications, before passing judgement?

Posted by spdandpwr on Jan-19-2006 00:34:

i hope pioneer is fixing all the bugs they have been having lately. I just checked the pioneerprodjforums.com website and look at this thread

http://www.pioneerprodjforums.com/u...9&Number=127074

hmm i dunno what cd player to get now Ill guess ill buy another technics turntable

Posted by T-Soma on Jan-19-2006 01:22:

Damn now that scared me from buying cdj1000mk2s even if the price is lower.
I probably will end up getting the mk2 if they are cheaper

looks pretty uninteresting to me! and expensive. who's gonna buy a djm-800 if you can get xone:92 for 200$ more?

not me for sure (that is if i can ever afford to upgrade my mixer)
