Where's all my hard techno lovers???
I'm talkin bout: Sven Wittekind, Amok, Chris Liebing, Andrew Wooden, Robert Natus, Andres Kremer, Christian Wunsch, Oscar Mulero.
Curious to see how many other people like the above???
I'm listening to them all the time
yeah, i like it. you should get ahold of these tracks:
axel karakasis - g-point
felix kroecher - compression
theo schwarz - liquid cycle
alex bau - percussive fetish
andre walter - misty circles
axel karakasis - madness
andreas kremer - the way of the drum (frank kvitta remix)
lars klein - the trap
eric sneo - distorted radio
eric sneo - don't stop
ignition technician - burn all the liars
tribal hard stuff:
cave - deimos
boriqua tribez - fuego
bastian ahrez - sambo
i'll post more later
I do listen to Wnsch and Mulero for a bit, although I tend to enjoy that type of music mostly when clubbing, it's not really my favourite for home listening (nor is it my neighbor's).
I wouldn't dare put them in the same corner as Amok, Sven Wittekind and the likes though. Their styles are pretty different.
If you like those two, check out some sets by:
Reeko
Takaaki Itoh
British Murder Boys
Rumenige & Loktibrada
And labels like:
Manuke
Tsunami
Counterbalance
Palicavonzvreca
Antidandruff
Yes agreed, Wittekind and Amok definitely are in a different level of hardness than Wunsch and Mulero are.
I'll def look into those artists/labels both of you posted.
Cheers
British Murder Boys facking own, HAAAAAAAARD techno!
Oliver Ho and James Ruskin are good suggestions if you like BMB but you might already know that.
someone forgot to mention O.B.I, Mario Ranieri & PatDSP.
Chris Liberator & Dave the Drummer (w/ Ant sometimes) make some really good tunes too, not sure if it's entirely what you want though.
A good recent title is "It's not goa but its fucking psychedelic"

Some Eastern European hardtechno goodies to be found here..
Ack, the whole Liebing crew is boooring. Gives me a headache, too.
Surgeon would be the most obvious choice for good harder techno. He plays a bit of everything though; keeps it interesting. Markantonio produces all kinds of techno, too. And from what I've listened to; Jeff Mills' old work (I'm talking UR and Tresor) is edgier than his Axis stuff. Woody McBride I'd guess has some harder stuff too.
Other than that I don't know what to tell ya. Hard, hi-hat hammerin' techno isn't my domain.
I've been listening to stuff by Sandy Warez and Kay D.Smith lately, pounding! Btw i am still quite new to techno but can someone explain what is schranz techno? I dont understand it when the description says its schranz.
*raises hand*
i freakin love techno. it is more my style.

| Originally posted by basd Schranz is a (not fully correct) synonym for hardtechno stuff produced by the likes of Amok, Wittekind, Marco Remus, Rush, etc. Originally coined by Liebing to describe the stuff he played back in the days, it has been, and still is, misused all over the world. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schranz. I disagree on Beyer, Gayle San, Skoog, Hades and Lekebusch being 'schranz' though.. Beyer has been getting more and more involved in minimal stuff lately, even. |
Never knew it could be found in wikipedia!
No problem. The German version of Wikipedia has an even bigger piece of text on it. Problem is most people here probably don't understand German well enough to be able to read it
Ah well, here goes nothing:
