trance on the move and in clubs (bass discussion)

i tend to listen to trance on the move on my mp3-player or in the car.
fair to say, that the bass reproduction is not amazing on either of these solutions.

when you go to festivals or clubs the music sounds so much different due to a much more intensive bass.

i went to nature one 2004 in germany and saw pvd and blank and jones, the bass was increbible when i was there, very different from the recording i received afterwards.

do djs kick in extra bass at gigs or is is my perception warped due the more powerful woofers available in clubs and festival sound systems.

Re: trance on the move and in clubs (bass discussion)

Music sounds better louder, i'm 90% sure than been proven as fact. So hearing a track louder is obviously going to give the listener a better experience.

Another thing with bass is that at high volumes it adds an extra stimulation to the experience; the vibration. You get to feel as well as hear the music which again enhances the experience

Also due to how our ears work if you increase the volume through all frequencies it gets to a point where the bass overpowers the other frequencies. Can't really go into any technical details.

Not sure if any of that answers your question

PS we live in the same city

PPS why does gatecrasher have to suck so much now? If i'd been born 5years earlier i'd be studying in the city with argueably the best nightclub in the world
