Art of Trance - Persia [Platipus]
Brand new AOT song, Just heard it now and from the short sample its sounding like a great tune by simon. Reflects his older tunes while has a very new 05/06 feeling. The remix is a bit iffy imo but then again i don't feel many people can sucessfully remix AOT songs.
So for me im giving the original mix 9/10.
The sample is available on platipus. www.platipus.com
hmm I have to disagree with you on this tune.
Though it is hard to remix AOT tunes, the remix of this tune is far better (strictly in my opinion) than the original. The original (from the sample I heard) wasn;t too appealing but the remixs ounds like it would be a lot of fun to spin.
[/end my 2 cents]
Sounds awesome!
Probably one of the best trance tunes i have heard in quite some time. You can definitely tell that this is an Art of Trance tune, with that driving bassline and the acid sounds used.
Not a big fan of the remix though
Oh my, maybe people are actually starting to make trance again!
oo I've been waiting for this for ages.
The original sounds really interesting. Good old Simon always succeeds!
Remix sounds crap out of the sample.
A must have for sure!
I usually love Art of Trance's productions, made a bunch of memorable tracks and I've got too say that Persia is another in the row. The original mix sound really cool due too the sample. I enjoyed the remix too, Sounded really good I must say
Haha thank god i thought i was weird only liking the original but yeah definately get this one
I love simon the God of trance imo.
played in any set recently? i'd very much like to hear it
Finally Simon Berry has got a grip of himself and started to make real trance again. This is undoubtley one of the best tunes released in while. you can never underestimate the power of the silver box and natacha atlas' vocalchants work perfectly. top track, ordered the vinyl.
and lacks, armin played it on last asot
wow
this is great!!
only heard samples from chemical though. i prefer the original, mmmmmmmm kinda goa?
Ori Mix 10/10 FREAKING AMAZING!

nice original mix!

Just got my copy of this and it's great to hear Simon returning back to the good sounds. The remix is nothing compared to the original.

but then again IMO cygnus x > art of trance any day. art of trance is nice too, but cygnus x is way better IMO and i much prefer the cygnus x remixes of all mentioned art of trance tracks. anyway i'm gonna have to check this one out.
Verry nice track!! 9,5/10
amazing track from barry and about the remix, i hope that tek tonik will make a remix for this tune after the mazing remix of
art of trance-mongoose tek tonik remix
10/10
a straight-up trance tune that i finally enjoy! wow this has been awhile lol...
in my opinion the original mix is almost flawless. love the acid sounds in the track. everything meshes together really well. the opening bell sounds extremely similar to the one used in Aria - Dido (AvB remix)
the Vorontsov & Dorohov Remix is alright. sounds sort of housier and more dance-floor oriented but still doesnt compare to the original. i hope they dont release a bunch of remixes butchering this beauty
Original 9/10
Vorontsov & Dorohov Remix 4/10
it does have a nice feel to it, especially the bassline, but those moaning vocals.... ehhhhhhhhh i just don't think this is my kind of stuff anymore
Seems someone has been looking back to set the sound of the future. Which is all good in my book. Im a sucker for the middle-eastern chanting and this one sure hits the spot right on. However i do feel it could have benefited from a bit more acid sounds. Maybe a future remix will deliver that.
Very good track. Nice to hear this kind of trance (this is no commercial uplifting shit), I thought it was dead
Good TB-303 basslines, good feeling. Remix was also very good. Both 8,5/10

Frankly, I don't hear anything that special about this track... and I'm having hard time believing this will be remembered as one of the AoT classics later on despite people throwing tens around here... This might have worked better 10 years ago...
Anyway, gotta agree with Skip about Cygnus X's remix of Easter Island. Now, there's a tune.
some elements remind me of Gravitational Waves
