I dont know abotu mixers, because i don't have much experience witht hem, but from what I read, the Vestax VMC 04, it's supposed to have the best sound in that price range, and the cue booth it's very nice also.

just seems liek abetter option for me , rather than the numark.

and you can get the VMC 04 for 249 $, FreeShipping.

i know about mixers and i'm speaking from experience

the numark dxm-06 is one of the best beginner mixers out there

haven't used the vestax yet, but after reading up on it, i'd still go for the numark

hmmmm, ill do some research on the two, but i would like a mixer with more than two channels and the vestax has 4.

i'm assuming you're not going to be doing 3 deck mixing
if you're worried about hooking up cd players along with TTs, you can select between the phono input and line input on each channel

4 channels are nice to have, but not needed

when you're just starting out, it's best to worry about the basics first then go from there, learn to walk before you run

the beauty about the numark is the effects, they work as good as an on-board effector can work, i also like the punch button eq kills, works better than kill switches IMO

it gives you the basics you'll need to learn but you won't grow out of it right away, it has enough toys to keep an experienced dj occupied

Sweet this thread is exactly what i needed as well, but i'd really like to know if its worth it to spend say an extra hundred on a cheap effects mixer (im lookin at the dxm03) or save up for something decent or not bother with effects?

Thanks.

alright ill go with the numark

B is for Behringer and Bad.

not to take anything away from the vestax, i'm sure it probably has a little bit better build and sound quality
i personally enjoy playing on some vestax mixers

but you're starting out, sound quality shouldn't be on your mind, learning to beatmatch should

as for build... as long as you're not playing impromptu games of football with your mixer, it should last you a decent amount of time

alright, thanks for the help guys.
