Now thats a nice set dj_estrela (or could I call you Dj_Star, lol)

Your transitions are very good and the track you chose where very good...

Lots of Hi quality instrumental tracks and very few vocals... Very "trancy" indeed...

Congratulations and sucess

Hugs

Ok had a listen, good effort overall, just a few things things I didn't like, but maybe they're just my personal preferences.

The tracks were beat-matched well, but you should work on your transitions, some could have been longer, and you tried to blend the main melodies of tracks together too much, and left out the intro and build up. You also brought the incoming track in too loud at times, rather than a smooth, gradual blend, but again, maybe just preference.

Track selection needs working on too, the first four tracks, although cool, all had the same kinda sound, kinda boring imo.

But a good effort as I said, keep it up

Hi there, many thanks for the first round of comments;
I'll reply to the main topics:

- longer transitions / blending of main melodies:
Regarding my transitions, my first cds featured basic transitions by combining the intros with the outros; later, I've started to try to find interesting combinations between the tracks, namely combination of voices or melodies.
Of course that these transitions are much more dificult to get really nice, thats why I ask listeners to pin-point the best and the worst ones. This type of mixing also has the advantage of featuring more tracks per 80 minute cd.

- incoming track too loud:
Yes, I agree thats a problem on my mixes. This is related to the fact that I do my mixes at night, using headphones only (eg, silently withour amplifier). Thus I have major dificulties to get the volumes constant in the mix.

- track selection:
This is where I invest the majority of the time for producing my mixes: trying to select only the finest tracks (based on my own taste and suggestions of friends), and selecting a good order, typically of increasing BPMs, with softer tunes at the beginning. Then I try to combine the tracks as I've mentioned above.

If listeners give mroe detailed comments, especially in which tracks stand out / stand down, then It will help me on the next sets.

If you want to blend the melodies of your tracks I would advise you to read up on harmonic mixing.

Mixing in key allows you to blend your tracks perfectly, build up the energy in your sets and avoid key clashes, hope this helps
