Full Article:

The past 12 months have seen Steve Angello become one of the hottest new name in dance music.

Following a string of essential productions on labels like Subliminal, Credence and his own Size Records, and remixes for some of the biggest names in music such as Mylo In My Arms, Eurythmics Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This Roman Flugel Gehts Noch, Moby Raining Again, M.A.N.D.Y Body Language [released April 06] and Royksopp 49 Percent have all received a touch of the Angello magic.

Its all about attitude for Steve. You hear it all the time, but for this extraordinary 23 year-old, you can really taste it. As a boy Steve was introduced to the wonders and delights of the Athens club culture and underworld in which his father moved.

Deeply enthused by all of this and, as it emerged, incredibly talented, Angello quickly honed his turntablism skills, fusing hip-hop, breakbeats and 70s classics until he won himself his first club residency in Stockholm.

Steves first ventures into the studio were with his long time friend Sebastian, at Sebs fathers place but it was a further three years before the mighty Freshly Squeezed and Echo Vibes were created and released on Joia Records, drawing heavily on influences such as Daft Punks Homework LP, Steve was finding new favour with the house music fraternity. Indeed Echo Vibes, something of a hit at the time, was remixed by Eric Prydz, with whom Angello has remained close ever since. Today Steve, Sebastian, Eric and Axwell are known collectively as the Swedish House Mafia a name to watch out for! Truth be told it's always a nice surprise when the Ministry Of Sound release a good album these days with their previous history of commercial releases they are now famous for.

The CD is the third in Ministry's 'Sessions' compilation series and is set to be a very impressive release, featuring the likes of Steve Lawler, Moby, Nathan Fake it's jam packed with house gems. Be sure to look out for the Ministry of Sound Sessions Mixed by Steve Angello out in February 2006...

This was posted in New Releases a week or two ago. Anyhow, looks good, but if you've heard the Angello & Ingrosso Essential Mix and the 4AM Mixmag CD, it's not that fresh. That said, it's what I expect from MoS

Having heard a few of his recorded sets doesn't help, either.

Beat me by a few seconds.

Also, Yoshimoto - Du What U Du has been out on vinyl since September and it had been around for awhile before that.

BTW, Erin, have you heard either of these - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=music&v=glance or http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...v=glance&n=5174. I don't think I know any of the tracks from the 2nd one.

Honestly the tracklist looks pretty lame, while some of them may be stormers at clubs, thats all they really are. I mean comon "Do What you" that track has been been played to fucking death. These swedish house mafia guys make some banging tunes. But their mix cd's suck.

People will buy the cd, then forget about it the next week.

Explain how 20 tracks = sucking. Especially if you didn't listen to it.

I can think of a bunch of house CDs and sets with 20+ tracks in an hour that I like. Bad Boy Bill's Behind the Decks has 36 tracks, with the longest coming in at 3:37. Most of Steve Porter's sets are around 20 tracks per hour.

Ok.... sorry, my mistake. There are 2 CD's... the first CD is mixed by Goodwill. That CD has 20 tracks, nothing special IMO. The 2nd, mixed by Axwell only has 13... and I have all the tracks already. The track selection is good in the 2nd (minus 49%)... it's the first CD that is average at best. Here's the tracklist for both.

CD1 - Mixed by Goodwill

01 Wonderland Avenue - White Horse (Mike Monday Remix)
02 The Juan Maclean - Give Me Every Little Thing (Putsch 79 Disco Dub)
03 Gorillaz - Dirty Harry (Jon Carter Remix)
04 Mylo Ft Freeform Five - Muscle Car (Tiga's Nightmare Chords Mix)
05 Sharam Jey - Push Your Body (Loulou Players Remix)
06 MYNC Project Ft Abigail Bailey - Something On Your Mind (Tv Rock Remix)
07 Louie Austen - Heaven is in the Back Seat Of My Cadillac (Malente Remix)
08 Craig Obey Ft Abela - Gonna Have to Pay (Craig & Ben's Filthy House Jam)
09 Tonite Only - Danger (the Bomb) (12' Mix)
10 Dero Ft Leee John - Dero's Illusion (Dero's Southamerican Vocal Mix)
11 The Knife - Heartbeats (Rex The Dog Remix)
12 Aaron Smith Ft Luvli - Dancing (Fuzzy Hair Remix)
13 Red - Release the Pressure (Original Mix)
14 Patrick Alavi - the End (Original Mix)
15 Herd & Fitz Ft Abigail Bailey - I Just Can't Get Enough (Freemasons Dub)
16 Mish Mash Ft Lois - Speechless (Sandy Rivera Remix)
17 Silver City - Galactic Ride (2020 Soundsystem Re-edit)
18 Tiga - Gonna Want Me (Jesper Dahlback Remix)
19 M.A.N.D.Y Vs Booka Shade - Body Language (Original Mix)
20 Paradise Soul - Spirit of the Turning Table

CD2 - Mixed by Axwell

01 Till West - Same Man (Original Mix)
02 Royksopp - 49 Percent (Angello & Ingrosso Remix)
03 Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso - Together (Original Mix)
04 Roger Sanchez Ft GTO - Turn On the music (Axwell Remix)
