Nightmares!
Last night I had the worst nightmare in years, well from what I can recall anyway. I remember being a kid and praying at night so that I wouldn't have scary nightmares! hahah I was so afraid to fall asleep!
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else still gets horrible boogey-man-ish type dreams? I don't get them often but, when I do I get so creeped out that I can't fall back asleep, holly spooksville.
Also, last night the "bad guy" in my dreams was arrested in the end so I woke up quite relieved, thank god. My other method of escape is flying away, bahahah ever since I was little.
Please tell me im not alone here!
ps. This post is just to keep me occupied so I can avoid going to bed
Aww you poor thing.
Yeah...Nope, no nightmares.
you're alone on this one. Sleep is my eternal bliss
i had nightmares the other nite that i was trying to be assasinated....but it was actually kind of cool....in a covert-op kinda way....but ultimately it kept waking me up...
You aren't alone.. the odd time, yeah I do!
And when I do they are usually the type that if I fall back asleep it will start off EXACTLY where it ended and I am too afraid to go back to sleep
BAAHAH Hilary, I was just telling Ray/Margs how I had a nightmare about boiled eggs getting stuck to my hands and I woke up yelling "get off me you stupid eggs, get off"
AHAHAH
Bahahah that is retarded, I love it.
Do you remember when you were babysitting me once and you made the Ouija board tell us we were all going to die? hahahaha And then you had to deal with me trying to fall asleep that night and not telling mom and dad!?!
okay I cant stop laughing
I haven't had nightmares in years.
Sad dreams yes, but not nightmares.
IMO more stressed out you are, more nightmares you get.
I can honestly say I've never had a nightmare. Dreams, yes, oh yes, the dreams. Wonderful things, really.
I don't have them too often, but every once in a while I will have a traumatic dream, whether it be really sad, or scary as hell. Usually when I have them, they are hard core and will bother me for days on end.

You're lucky you don't have nightmares often... I have "night terrors" almost every night. What happens is very frightening because the line between reality and the dream is almost non-existant. I believe I 'wake up' at least 4 times (during an episode), each time being more real than the last. And this is always accompanied by a dark force either touching me, whispering, towering over me etc. The worst part for me, is the unexplainable surge I get through my body whenever this happens...like electricity. WEIRD I know

^ My brother used to have night terrors when he was a kid, but not to that extent. Poor girl
As long as I don't sleep on my back, I won't get nigtmares.
The occasional ones that I do get, I've had before and seem to know what's going to happen next, yet they still freak me out.
The worst one yet...which came back not too long ago: me thinking I'm being possessed...laying in bed (on my back)...i'm awake (or at least I believe I am), for some reason I can't move my arms/legs or anything, nor can I open my mouth to talk no matter how hard I try...then I feel something creeping up at the end of the bed, and it feels like it will just walk onto the bed and crush it (like in Exorcism of Emily Rose)...somehow got enough strength to move my arm and it was all over

I had this creepy ass nightmare when I was a kid - but only when I stayed at my grandparent's in Florida. It was "the Blob" from those old black n' white movies?
It would start really small in a corner of my room and keep getting bigger and bigger until the whole world was being devoured by it. I would be running or biking in front of it until it finally caught up with me - and then I'd wake up.
These days, I don't often remember my nightmares - I just know that something awful woke me up.
MaxTO, I did research on night terrors and they only seem to happen when people sleep on their backs. Your experience is exactly what a night terror is: being immobile, not being able to speak/scream and having a dark pressence in the room.
Ben, I don't know if there is anything that can help me. I looked into it and it is still not understood to the extent of having a "solution." I will just have to keep fighting my demons myself

Read up on a few of Diabolic's threads.
Your nightmares / night terrors won't seem so creepy anymore

I haven't had night terrors, but while laying on my back trying to fall asleep, rarely I will get that "electric jolt" sensation, it seems, just as I'm about to slip into unconsciousness.

Sleep paralysis really sucks. For the people who who get it, you should read up on it. There have been some very interesting papers written on the subject.
