Project Afterhours: Saturdays @ Rich's.
18+ Welcome

Guys... this is it. a REAL club, with a REAL sound system (as Matt, myself and anyone else who's played on it can tell you) and there will be REAL dance music all night. It's an afterhours weekly but I know alot of you were saying you would've gone to the old vision had it not been such a shithole, well here you go. Nice club, badass sound, and your favorite choons till the break of dawn. Please come out and support. I'll be playing this weekend alongside the night's resident and host. DJ Leon of moonfly.

no shit. I'm gonna take some pics from the DJ booth/balcony. I love 2nd story DJ booths that over look the crowd... they just fuel my god complex (kidding)

Wow..haven't been to that place in over a year. Still remember the first big break I got when Sean let me play a 4 hour opening set for Kimball Collins during august of 2004. Now, I had gotten that gig before I helped Sean and Neil move a ton of speakers and various gear that was a part of Hyperia's old system from storage into 2401's green room. To my understanding that place was gonna undergo some serious renovating and the gear added to the existing system. Whatever happened with that? Something I've been wondering for the past year and a half

Nonetheless..best of luck with this new weekly and anyway I can support just let me know.

the afterhours is a straight deal. they DO have "gay nights" but its not like it was where the club was ALL gay and catered ONLY to gay crowds I think their big gay night is friday and the random special events they do with circuit promoters

this is some of the best news I've heard in ages. I was wondering what happened to Rich's, the place used to be Houston's bastion of electronic music and then it seemed to just disappear off the map.

So this is every Saturday from 2am until whenever, eh? Now I just need to find somewhere to go until 2am, suggestions welcome.

also, are you planning to bring in guest DJ's or will it be a pretty stable residency? I always find it nice when a variety of local talent gets heard (not to mention that I'm always praying for a way to get on the decks myself)

thats right every saturday night. We've got more fliers being printed so those should be out and bout soon. I've also got some special guests headliners that we'll be bringing up there as well so we're pretty excited about it and welcome you out to have a good time

Right, Most clubs in houston play a lot of boring hip hop, top 40, Spanish music The same usual songs. I've always dreamed of opening my own kind of club,Thought of calling it The Rapture just playing trance,some of progressive house too (Nick Warren my fav. progressive house Dj) that i listen sometimes. I had been to club Opus in downtown nice looking club, atmosphere was fantastic and they have the underground room that play trance,techno had a blast

that's one thing about Houston, House music is more predominant.
