Dj Table

I know some of you out there made your own tables for your turntables, cdjs, mixer w/e. But I was wondering if any of you kept the blueprints around because I hate the table I am using now. If you do either PM me or post it here thanks!

P.S. Im looking for a table that can hold 2x turntables, a mixer, 2 cdjs and a reciever. Thanks again

yeah sure. Mine i want my turntable flush with the table. I'm trying to avoid a shelf for the 2 x CDJ-1000's... that's where i'm stuck at. I'm trying to figure out different options. I also don't want my table facing the wall... i'm going to have it facing the room. With that, the table has to look funky!

do a search was a thread about 6 months or a year ago about dj tables got up to like 20 or 30 pages filled with blueprints and stuff.

Posted by Orbital32 on Jan-22-2006 18:09:

you mean this one?

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...blueprint+table

not much help there.

Posted by Orbital32 on Jan-22-2006 18:33:

quick question for somebody who may know... I want everything flush with the wood, i mean the turntables and the mixer. What is the best way to do this? take exact measurements of the turntable and cut that out in the wood, or do i make the cut in the wood bigger then the turntables and put foam around it? I'm trying to avoid future problems, one that i would already see coming if i take exact measurements. The back of the mixer only has about 1 CM clearance from the top of the mixer to the ground, which means that the wood will have to be a little less then 1 CM. at that point i pretty much have to use balsa wood..

yes, but if was going to pay that price, i would have went with the sefours. I think i got it though. Today i'm going to the Home Depot to look around and see what i can come up with. I think i have an idea that might just be crazy enought to work

Posted by s3nate on Jan-24-2006 02:37:

So does anyone have the blueprints yet?

Posted by n3lly on Jan-24-2006 13:37:

While this isn't exactly what you're looking for, it's all i can find at the moment.

I'm having trouble finding my original plans, which is annoying me quite a bit. The above picture gives you most dimensions, but as with everything you'll probably be inprovising by the end of the table to make things fit more perfectly together.

I am by no means a carpenter so don't take all the figures as final. As you can see, Solidwroks was a bit anal and gave me some stupid measurements, all measurements are in centimeters. So if it says 39.8 or something like that, just round it up to 40 or around there.

The distance between the pegs for the shelves are completely up to yourself, i have them set the way i want.

One small problem i ran into though were the shelves. They look great, but they don't slide in and out perfectly (well one of them does) because the table isn't cut by an industrial machine which would be a lot more precise, you get some fuck ups here and there, a corner which is a perfect 90degree corner etc..

Anyway, i'll have another look for the plans themselves, but i have a feeling i don't have them perfectly made out as it was my first time using solidworks.

I'll post up some more pics in this thread seeing as you seem keen to see how it was done..

Hope this helps a little, oh and good luck and fair play for having a go yourself!

Pictures as promised, i'm just going to put them all up here. They're not especially big so...

Posted by n3lly on Jan-24-2006 13:43:

And what it looked like in the end...

The top i did on my own and don't actually have any plans of it. I just cut out a design after i measured out where the 1210's legs would be sitting. I wanted to see some of the beige leatheret(spelling?) so i designed it to peek out at the front of the table.

I then need to secure the black covered mdf bored onto the beige "pillowed" top of the table. So i used mirror screws, a screen which has a screw at the top which you screw the shiny semi-sphere balls into.

All it all i'm really happy with it, though the paint job looks good it needs to be sealed better as anything that is dragged along the shelves leaves a slight white mark, which rubs away and turns back into black.

I had further designs to make beige and black contrast side boards. And if i was to have the table in a 'playing out' towards the crowd position i might have done some design on the back of the table as well.

So yeh, as i said i'll have a look for the actual solidworks files. But that's all i can find at the moment.

Any comments/or questions, or improvement tips are more than welcome..

nelly
