Review: DAVE the Drummer and Atomic Hooligan 1/20

Okay the night was pure awesomeness.

Almost had to leave because the gangsters my friend brought wanted hip hop, but this girl and her dormmate weren't going anywhere. We ended up staying and dancing the night away!
Atomic Hooligan was wicked, It's been sooo long since I've heard breaks that good.
DAVE the drummer.....that was my first techno set I've heard live and he was definitely not a let down! Actually ended up going to the other room to dance for a bit to some of the breaks because his music was a bit intense to dance to at times!

Spitty - ahhh what a surprise to see you!!! Glad you ended up coming out!
Tyler- great seeing you! Thanks for the drinks

Too much fun!

Got in by 11:30ish and D-Monic was rocking the Orange Room with some quality breaks, Atomic Hooligan came up and thank god he did not let me down! Wicked breaks that would not let me stop moving.

Dave came up, really good techno set... but then, SURPRISE! Andrea comes in rolling in the place like a big spender. Really glad this girl came out.

Then headed to the Gallery for some more breaks Ended up seeing couple ppl I havent in a while, so that was nice

Magikb, thank you soo much for the drive home. It was awsome getting to see you and chat with ya once again.

Pleasure meeting some quality TAs in the dance floor! You know who you are.

me, Andrea and Anton aka private[Cdn] got there after 3am. The doors were closed, we were ready to cry. But after 15 minutes of negotiations the best bouncer ever let 3 of us in for just $20! Woooohoooooooo We were jumping and screaming!

I'm so glad we came! D.A.V.E the Drummer was I lost myself, I was killed, I was going nuts on the dance floor. Did I look like a guy who hadn't slept for two nights? Hell no! Music does magic, plus those caffeine pills were just great, Andrea. Are you sure there was nothing other than caffeine inside? lol

Well sick little me, who at midnight was still sitting here at home debating on whether or not to actually get motivated to go or not..
So glad that I did! I think I would have kicked my own ass if I hadn't gone. (although I am not doing so great today, very sick which was the reason for my debate with myself last night)

Got there around 2am and met Tyler, then proceeded into the Orange Room. I caught the last hour of Atomic Holligan, but wasn't feeling the vibe quite yet. I had warming up to do, only near the end of his set did I actually start to move. It was a good little warm up for D.A.V.E to start. I think this was just what I needed.. a good night of hard bangin techno
I preferred the first hour of DAVE's set over the last hour although it was all very good. I believe I heard him drop Poca Del Machine - Preach & Marco G during the first 30 min of his set which surely got me moving more. There was such a great vibe as well there lastnight and not too packed that you weren't able to move which is always really nice.

I got to share the dance floor with some of my favourite TA's as well to rock it out like old times

Alex - OMG, it was soooo good to see you again. I have missed you so much and the chat on the way home was wicked. It was good to catch up!
Sasha - old times is right.. so glad you made it out. I had just finished saying to Tyler "wtf, Sasha is having a party at his house instead of being here, what is wrong with him?" then you walked through the doors.. lol But looks like for the old times you will just have to attend more techno events now
Andrea - what a surprise to see you there. You were the last person I would expect to see but so glad you showed up. And your directions were great..didn't get lost!
Anton - long time no see, good to see you out and hopefully I will see you at US9.

Shoutouts to all the new TA's I met as well. Always nice to meet new peeps.

See you all out Feb 17th

pleasure was mine. yes its dead for you not for me. i am more into it than ever before but my love for techno is not far behind

DAVE owned me. absolutly fantastic. i already know this will be one my best of 2006. the best part of the night for me was when valentino kanzyani tune was played. i think its called vortex or something not too sure but i told Jenn and she was like OMG awakenings lolz

Good to hear so many people really had fun! Hopefully you will come again for my 30th birthday party @ The Gallery on Feb 24 with the Geezer doing a LIVE techno set.
