Sander van Doorn = WOW! And I mean WOW!!-!
OK, peeps here know how much of a critic I am when it comes to analyzing a DJ set, emotion, vibe, etc etc.
And well, all I have to say about Sander van Doorn at Ten15 tonight is WOW! And I do mean HOLY F'IN SHIT WOW!!! That man blew me away. His mixing was so awesome. Mixing was flawless. WOW! What a set!
Give this guy a little more exposure and I thing he could be huge within the new few years. His energy was great, he is totally laid back, and kept the dance floor at Ten15 rocking. The WHOLE crowd. No one slowed down at all at any time during his set.
He's also easily approachable. Obviously really is into what he does. This was his first time ever in the US and he loves what he's seen. He wishes he had more time to spend in SF but has to fly back out tomorrow (Sunday). After his gig, he stuck around for a good 45 minutes just chatting it up with peeps.
Anyway, this man better get more exposure. I haven't seen an up and coming DJ impress me so much with his first full set I heard (I do not have any of his sets and had no clue what to expect) since I heard a Markus set right near the beginning of his GDJB days when like 10 people would tune in online.
I honestly believe with the right manager/agent, he could be the next big trance DJ.
Really wish I took my damn camera. Boo!
Dave thank you for your review! Wish I would have had some $ to go out check out Van Doorn! Oh Well maybe next time.
Just got back from San Francisco, oh man what an awesome set from Sander Van Doorn. Got to the club at around 1:15 and was already spinning, he didn't finish till 3:45. I had a few sets from him so I knew what to expect and he certainly didn't disappoint. The energy, vibe, all there. Wish to see more of him in SF.
i think hes recently been signed onto Armada Records, cause one of his remixes of an Armin track was released on it. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him

Wow, would have loved to hear him since I play all of his tracks. His remix of the Police is doing really well right now. When you really wanna get the crowd moving, drop a S.V.D. track!

did he spin aka?
SvD
This guy had my vote for trance artist of the year.
He put out the sickest trance, and pumped life back into a genre I wasn't listening to anymore (thank you swedish house mafia).
But when I heard a CL set close to his track 'Error', it just blew me away
. Crazy buildups and massive breakdowns!
All his singles are dope. And remixes just rock, excluding the 'Police' single that should be forgotten. Also produced under Sandler, Sam Sharp, Purple Haze, but I hope Armin plays the SvD rmx of his track 'ControlFreak'
And in a crazy twist of irony, In the last set I heard from him in Dec he closes with a track from a couple of Californians, G&D!!
BigTop -- Sub. Just never pictured that song in his sets.
Did I forget to say WOW!?
Even after sleeping, all I can say is WOW!
damn he has got to be my favorite producer right now as well. i am really up set that i missed this, vegas blows. if its not top 10 or poppy we dont get it.
that was an awesome set last night. i also have never heard an svd set before last night so i had no idea what to expect. what i ended up getting was A LOT of variety--some house, breaks, techno, trance--all blended very smooth and consistently throughout. the mixing and track selection was great even though i recognized less than half the tracks. when he was done sander stuck around and pretty much talked with whoever wanted to talk to him, signed records, pics, etc. very very cool guy! residency anyone?

i have heard one of his productions, but none of his sets...dave what type of music was he playing??i would asume melodic, fluffy trance?no?
or hard and techy?????who would you compare him to?
trance, prog trance, prog house, breaks, techno....it was amazing. Nothing cheesy, nothing too fluffy. Just awesome sheot.
Thanks for the review. Always nice to hear good things about new artists.
But that awful Police remix has to be stopped.
btw I am off to go see Raphel Saadiq tonight. Downtempo for the soul.
Oh please....SOS isn't half as bad as most of the tracks I hear being pounded by DJs these days.
i think he was big in 2005. he made a good name out of himself with great tracks and remixes. what more can the guy do ?
ive never heard him play live or any of his sets but would love to someday. i really like his style as his productions is always energetic.
and armin WILL play control freak sander van doorn remix on jan28 or else im gonna beat his ass!
I got both Sander Van Doorn and Sam Sharp sets, but they're from the first 6 months of 2005 so nothing recent but still good. I'll try to upload some later in the week when I get back home. He did play AKA (Sam Mix), right after he dropped the Police S.O.S. I first heard his remix of S.O.S. in one the sets I have, way before Amrin played it on ASOT. I actually voted for Sander Van Doorn for one of my top 5 djs for 2005 but I guess he didn't make the top 250?

Man I wanted to get my pic taken with him, had my camera ready but I guess he stayed in the back and I had to leave at around 4. How does one go into the back, do you need a special pass or can anybody just walk up. I see DaveT up there all the time.
i wish i pcould of got in to this wodnerful event, if anyone knows what the tracklsiitng for this night was it would be great..

I knew this guy was going to be big when i bought Loaded a year ago or so. The set was awsome saturday and was an inspiration to hear him live finally. He was super friendly and took plenty of pictures with us.
