Question Info about Audio Galaxy...

Hey all,

Im toying with the idea of getting an AudioGalaxy account so i can d/l more tracks but before i do i wanna kno some more info about it...

I heard that u have to download some programs for it to work, wut are these prgrams and are they big...?

Also, how does it all work...?

These may seem prety dumb questions to u, but i have never been to the site properly...!

Thanx
[Dan]

All you have to do is sign up, and then download a small piece of software, called a satelite. This is basically what recieves the songs. It is fairl straight forward. Just search for the song, add it to you list, and then it will start downloading. Enjoy, it aint hard to use, it is fairly self explanatory.

If you have anymore questions just ask

Ahhh, i see...

So i just gotta download this ''satelite'' and i can d/l songs from there...? Do i still have to register to do this then...?

Also, is the ''satelite'' wut u use to play and store the d/l files or can u move them around and play them with u're mp3 player and shite...??

Thanx
[Dan]

you got to sign in order to use the satelite
you need to create your own account

and about the other question...
you can move the songs around and play them in the mp3 player

You can also join groups where u can talk to people and get songs sent to you, or u can send songs to other people.

This is a good way of getting the latest tunes. However, beware of joining free send groups as u will end up getting spammed.

also, there are some...um....TRICKS that you can do with AG.... you'll see that some songs are blocked, but you can get around that...

also, you can only download 1 file at a time, UNLESS you share a certain ammount of files, and you can download 2 at a time. (don't remember how much....) so i just share all of my stuff.

AG is definately the best place to get songs, when you get real good at navigating it (like me... ) you should get just about every song you want, and be picky about quality/file length.

AG is simple to use the Sattelite is basiclly the user interface. It is what logs you in and is your download manager. It is also good because you can choose what version of a song meaning Bit rate size and so on this way you don't get stuck with partial files. You can also join groups that kinda is like share with just your friends that have stuff that the public can't have which is real cool.

Hope that helps

Okaydokey, thanx all!

Im on my way to AG now, do i gotta d/l the satelite first or get an account first...?

Get the account whilst you are downloading the satatlite, then instal it, and put in your loggin details, also you can put the mp3s into any folder, but you will see when you follow it through, it is really easy

Come on man, it is simple, just then login into your account on the site, and on the satalite, and then search for a song that you want, and it will bring up a list if it is available, and just click on the one you want, it is so simple

well audio galaxy is the best thinf since napster..I was afraid tio use at first in june but then when napster shut down even websites could not end the crave for new music...AG from my POV is the best program out there because you can find any damn remix or song 95% of the time. Napster you could only find 50% because it was on block or no one had it and was sharing.
a)download 6.08 satillite
b)run setup and then when done go to file and sign on as new user!!!
1)sign up(thats the hardest part because may take 10-20 min)(retry)!!
2)go to select directory as where music will go
3)then when your interent is running(56k) or cable(24/7)
make sure your satillite is running with the mini icon in the right bottom corner of screen(whnever it is it maybe dl or uploading as you please lol..your parents are using it and downloading trance and they don't even know!!!
4)then when it says connected to 256 server(or any??) click the large go button on the satlillite..
5)a website will appear that allows you to search and then you do
6)when done searching select the songs with the most green to get the best chance to get that song(even 1 green bar left does not 100% mean you will get the song)
7)and then go to select exact version to make sure you have 99% chance of getting the song..
8)wait bewteen 3--10 min getting any song you ever dreamed of
9)depending on the modem that is!!!!broadbandbandits lol
10)then go to the dl directory you selected and you can listen to so ngs as they download as a temp file. You remove .temp and change to .mp3 it a normal mp3 but wiat untill it dl'z thats all!!!
thats my 2 cents about this fine prog

ps. only bad is people who have firewall's(???), and x'd out songs(that can be fixed if you look more into the forums)

Getting past the X's in Audiogalaxy! Tried & Tested!
Read carefully... it took me about 10 minutes to set up and it works like a dream

How to get blocked songs

'Blocking' is AudioGalaxy's attempt at stopping you from downloading copyright material by not allowing the entry to be added to your transfer queue list. However, If you are able to get a song into your queue then it is safe & will download even if the song is blocked or AudioGalaxy block the song at a later date.

The technique therefore is to send the blocked song to yourself to a group which only you and your second username are members. Even then, normally you can't send a blocked song so this is where the trick comes in!

Once only setup

Create a new group

Run the satellite program > Choose FILE then CHANGE USER > Create a new user > Login in as the new user

Join the new group you created using this second user name

Logout and then login using your original username

Admit your second user to your new group. Now you have a group with just yourself & yourself as members!

Make a note of your new group number. This can be found in the url when you visit the grouphttp://www.audiogalaxy.com/groups/group.php?&gID=group_number_is_here

Sending blocked songs

When you wish to download some blocked songs it is best to login as your new second user, that way you will be sending them to your original user which you can log back into to retrieve the downloads.

Click the title of the blocked song you wish to send. Make a note of it's song numberhttp://www.audiogalaxy.com/list/song.php?&g=song_number_is_here

Enterhttp://www.audiogalaxy.com/groups/sendSongToGroup.php?&gID=&g= as the url address in your browser

Press SEND button

When you have chosen all your songs you wish to download log back in as your other user to retrieve the blocked songs.

Enjoy!

Hehe, remembered to keep that

This may seem like a stupid question but what's the difference between Audiogalaxy and WinMX?

Winmx logs onto napster servers, etc, audiogalaxy does not have anything to do with napster, and is html based, and is a lot simpler and better
