Do you sit across from or next to your girl when eating out?
If its just you and your girl/wife going out to dinner, do you sit directly across from them, or next to them? I've always sat directly across from the girl. I can't imagine sitting next to a date, having to look at them from the side while I'm eating. However I see this more and more now when I'm out. There will be a booth, with one side completely empty, while the other side will have the guy and his girl eating next to each other. It looks odd to me. I prefer to look at someone directly. If you are one of those people who do sit beside your date, I'd like to hear why you do it.
I always make Erin sit across from me. No way I'm letting that woman out of my sight. The second I can't see her is the second it's too late.

I tend to suplex women through tables.
my boyfriend always likes to sit next to me but when our food comes i make him go on his side of the table because i need my space when i'm eating.
i totally interpreted the thread title the wrong way...
edit // but to answer, i like sitting across from my bf when we're at a restaurant. sitting next to someone is weird and it kind of freaks me out when people do that at restaurants. i mean it's ok if you're sitting at the bar, but sitting on one side of the table together is kind of strange.
my guy and I sit across from each other. I have always wondered about thos couples that sit next to each other and its like they are all over each other. I think its better for the convo to sit across from each other
yea i had to read it twice myself. lol
I'm generally on my stomach between her legs...
edit: And yeah, to respond to the thread... I feel uncomfortable when I SEE people sitting next to each other and leaving the other side empty, I can't imagine how ghey I'd feel if I was them...

*totally wanted to be the first one and RJT beat me to it*

On topic, across from each other.
The only time Ive thought it was cute was when this couple was sitting on the same side at those long half-booth-half-table things in Cheesecake Factory. You know, the ones that are all squished together and its really awkward for the server? It actually worked out nice because the waitress didnt have to stick her butt in another table's face to take their order. And they got to sit next to each other. Mushy shmushy.

always across, i hate having to constantly turn my head just to talk to them.
The only good thing about sitting next to each other is you get the same view. I hate when I am at a restaurant and i get the "bad side" that has nothing going on and the other person is talking about all the juicy action that is happening behind you

i actually agree with the whole across thing. i prefer that. but i'm not exactly going to say, "no, sit there" when he asks me if he can sit next to me. as long as he moves when my food comes, i don't care really. but it IS cute that he likes to do that.
to extend on the original question...
do any of you guys follow the rule that you should let your girl sit facing the door (or room or wherever the action is), so that you're not distracted by hot chicks (or hot steaks) walking around... or do you think that's a stupid rule?
