Guidelines and Stipulations:
I will create a new thread each week, which starts on Monday to accomodate the weekend warriors. This will allow you to use your relaxing Sunday for uploading your weekly set to its hosting server. Please post your legal set link and review by Monday's end.

Examples of legal sets:
Essential Mix, Kiss 100, Party 93.1 Global DJ Broadcast, Dance Department, Partynight 538, DJ Promos, live recordings from clubs and festivals that are not sold commercially (you can usually verify at discogs.com)

Examples of illegal sets:
Global Underground, Balance series, Renaissance series, and the like.

If you would like your name on the schedule, just say so and I'll add you to the list. PLEASE do not link sets in this thread if it is not your week!

Disclaimer: I hope I don't upset anyone with this, but the goal here is simply to provide a regimented medium for delivering some bad-ass house sets to the TOTA massive. This 'club' has NO membership benefits except for being included in a list to share two bangin sets when your week is up. Everyone else, enjoy the beats!

Let's go fellas! I'm dying to see what you serve up!

Andrew K
Official Bio:
quote:
Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, Andrew has shown his interest in music since the first years of his life. In an early age, he takes up piano and theory courses. International music, as well as collecting records have been amongst his first hobbies; therefore it was only a matter of time to express his interest in mixing and djing. The first exposure to the crowd came through his friends birthday parties and small underground private raves.
To move things to the next level, he gets involved with composing and starts producing his own tracks, which caught Dj Leonis interest, who later signs Andrew to his label, Underground Lessons Recordings. Operating as a management agency as well, Underground Lessons help him to make his way to the first proper-organised gigs, and attract public attention. Starting from local bars and smaller clubs, as well as joining Leoni to his weekly radio show, makes him enter a new phase in his dj career.
Although his track "Reflections" which was originally signed with ULR never sees the light of release, the same label signs and releases "Inception EP", which was the first product of Andrew Ks collaboration with Simon Oates who hails from the UK. Featuring three original tracks which range from chiller beats to trancey patterns, their EP is getting aired at most of the local and internet radio stations.
It is that summer when Andrew K makes it into the top 10 rank for new talent djs, in a competition run by Global Dj Broadcast. His set is selected through hundreds of entries from all over the world and makes a big impression. The man behind the contest, Markus Schulz, said for Andrew: "G.Pal has some company in representing Greece. This set was chalk full of energy. Nice mixes and a solid tracklisting to boot!"
From now on, his sets are hosted in the biggest greek and internet radios, (Protonradio, Eccenticbeats, Global Dj Broadcast, Safari FM, Dance Nation and Di.fm to name a few) while he also appears as guest dj to a variety of events all over his country, Greece.
Spending endless hours in the studio, either alone or with his partners Simon Oates and Simuck, leads to the creation of many tracks that easily get signed on international labels. At that point, "Jataka", falls under the attention of Markus Schulz. This track was intended to be released on Underground Lessons, but Markus had something else on his mind. He spends a massive amount of time online with Andrew, helping him to improve the track. He makes the final arrangements and includes it in his mix compilation "Coldharbour Sessions", released on Armada. International recognition came along, and more labels sign Andrew for his productions and remixes, as well as license his tracks for mix compilations.
At present, Andrew continues providing the dance scene with new productions and remixes, while he also plays in major events all over the world. He also works as A&R Manager for Pure Substance Records. Still in a young age, with an impressive discography and his name on labels as Global Underground, Mo-Do, Vapour, Wallop, Distraekt, Klik, Armada and Babylon as well as his gigs in countries as Argentina, Mexico, USA, Panama, Czech Republic, India, Slovakia, Turkey, Italy and more he definitely makes a name to keep an eye and ear open for.

Review: This set perfectly showcases the type of house/prog/trance that I love. From slow and melodic, to funky and bouncey, with just a bit of electro, this set has something for everybody. With lots of deep bass accompanied by sweet synths, I always feel warm when i listen. I have been listening to is since I downloaded it in 2004, and it will never leave my mp3 player! Short, and concise, it really helps to settle my mood when things aren't as calm as they should be. It maybe a bit on the trancey side, but this is what I like to hear from prog djs.

Enjoy!
(I have emailed Andrew and asked if he would be willing to come and play here, he said he just needs somebody to bring him, and he will try.)

OK I think I'll have to post mine tomorrow cause I only found out recently that I'm up tonight, and I've been pretty busy (new job, school).

I *will* try to put up part 1 of my set tonight, but can't promise anything. But look for a full posting tomorrow evening.

Cheers!

DJ LEON

quote:

Piotr Leowski, better known as Leon in the Polish club scene is recognized not only as a dj, but also a promoter. Together with Angelo Mike, they are responsible for the success of Sentence Progressive Night parties at Warsaws W5 club. These events with artists like DJ Khl, Hypno, Paul Thomas and Dj Surprise went down in history for the preparation, cutting edge fresh music and a warm atmosphere.

When Decadance agency was formed in early 2002, Leon transferred his organizational skills to Piekarnia's floor. He was responsible for bringing names like Sander Kleinenberg, Staircase, James Holden and Yunus for their first gigs in Poland.

Full Profile

I thought I'd keep the trend of posting DJ's that aren't well-known and post up something from a DJ from back home. This latest promo by him is a 3-parter called simply "The Trilogy" (yea very creative, but wait till you hear it). To share, I have Parts 1 and 2, since those caught my attention the most (i haven't gotten around to part 3 yet, lol). Anyways, Part 1 features a more deep, minimal, techy sound. Not pounding, DDTT or anything like that. This part especially scores points in the "mood" department for me. Part 2 on the other hand, is a perfect follow-up with a dark-prog-tribal sound, which is something I haven't heard in a while.

Anyways, I was going to upload it but realized it's still available on the site where I got it from, so I'll post the links there (since the speeds will be much better for you guys, and i'll get to go to sleep earlier ). You need to register to DL them though, but DigitalMP says that registration was quick and easy. In any case though, I do have part 1 on megaupload which I'll post a link to for you lazy ones. And I'll put up part 2 tomorrow just in case too

I definitely liked part 2 better than part 1, but I wasn't feeling too well last night, so maybe when i listen to the first part again tongiht, it will catch up! i think i was just tired and its energy caught my attention.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Jan-26-2006 20:21:

yea i wasn't too sure if part 1 would catch on with ya'll; wasn't sure if we have any "minimal" fans 'round here. Personally I love it though, way better than part 2 in my opinion.
