Mixer choices?

Getting a new mixer. Had a Behringer DJ x400(I know.. Behringer sucks.. LOL)

I do most of my mixing for fun and for friend's parties using my laptop. Thinking about getting some Denon S1000 CDJs. If I do get those definately want to be able to scratch a little bit.

Looking at

Numark dm950USB
Numark 1050
Stanton SK-6F

They are all around $100
Any opinions?

Thanx,

Craig

i can tell you a bit about the numark 1050

i was going to purchase this mixer as it looked very standard and pro-like and decided to get the 1002mk2 which is about $10 extra.

they are both built with the same material so quality-wise they are similar. the crossfader is SHIT. mine didnt last for a month and i didnt even play around with the crossfader like im scratching. crossfader replacement costs about $20. crossfader is not under warranty, the rest of the device has 1 year warranty. other than the crossfader, everything is great.

now to tell you the difference between the 1050 is and the 1002mk2 and their pros and cons.

everything is better on the 1050 since everythings on the top of the mixer while the 1002 headphone volume channel control and mic volume are by the headphone plug at the bottom front. the only thing better on the 1002mk2 is the kill switch which is very useful sometimes.

yeah, save some money and buy something that isn't a piece of shit (which all of your choices are).

Most people say there only choice is some crappy mixer etc etc.
Just have patience and wait a few months and buy something better. You will definitly be happier.

Waiting has the extra benifit that while you wait there are chances of a good deal popping up.

very true. i've been 'comparison shopping' for a couple months now...kinda sucks waiting but i know it'll be worth it...

Id refrain from even buying vinyl because before you know it your gonna overshoot your vinyl budget and all your $$ will go down the drain. Well if you where me... I always think well ill keep shopping and if i find something else i like i replace one record in my basket that i dont like as much as the others. Then i cant decide and just end up adding the extra record. Then i keep doing it untill im $100 or so over budget. Im hopeless.

ya i see what you're saying. i keep it simple though. i order 2 records online every saturday and then get another 2 from the record shop...no more no less.

if you want to scratch get some decent cd players. the scratch option on the denon 1000 is not worth your time and money. look at the 3500 from denon (yes probably double the price, but worth every penny). if not cdj 800...which went down to $550 if you shop around.

that being said...try some denon mixer, maybe even the new pioneer 400 (i know it's over your price range, but as everyone else said...save up a bit you wont' regret it).

cheers
