Hi Leng,

Listening now...when you say you want to change the bassline, what do you mean? Do you want to change the sound of the bass or the bass pattern? I think perhaps you should layer the bass, and have different patterns at different frequencies.

Some common patterns are:

X---X---X---X--- Kick
--X--X----X--X-- Bass

x---x---x---x--- Kick
xx-x-x-xxx-x-x-x Bassline

thanks nankervis.. what i meant was the bass synth itself... but anyway, the bass pattern need to go anyway... i'll certainly try out your suggestion...

btw, it's really hard to get a reply nowadays *hehe*

Whong place realy for track reviews try the music producers promotion section.

Not too bad this track. Lacking in character though, sounds like you used vanguard for each sound you have in there. I'd leave the bass as it is but add some effects. Theirs too many possibilities to name, but an autowah could add some dynamics to it, and a Double Delay on 1/4d(left) and 1/8d(right) could add some space to it. I'd say, justgo crazy and add experiment a little with whacky effect constructions.

kind regards,

CD

A good bassline idea I had. X is a high octave note, x is low octave.

X---X---X---X--- Kick
xxXxxXxxXxxXxxxx Bass

The most important part of this is the rolling. I think with the dark feel you've got going here, you want a nice rolling bassline to keep it going.

nhibberd: ouch dude... soundin' like a vanguard, does that mean it sucked? anyway, it wasn't a vanguard...

thoughtlessjex: i was trying to do some epic trance here... and you perceived it dark... ouch... think i should do more homework...

justinmead: hehe.. yeah, i suppose so... there's so many threads like this...

thanks for the inputs guys... jex, i'll certainly try out your bassline pattern, thanks!!! nankervis, i'm using yours at the moment. it sounds good so far...
