Toronto Zanta

Anyone else see this guy cruising around the streets?

He is truely my favourite toronto personality.

He walks around takes his shirt off, wears a Santa Clause hat and flexes his muscles in front of people pointing to him self saying...

"See girls...Zeee Zeee Zeee Zeee!"

If flexing your muscles and saying that to girls doesn't make them wet immediately, I don't know what would.

the funniest thing ive seen him do was push-ups in the subway then getting up and flexing

Zanta fuckin KILLS me
Actually stopped to talk to me and a chick friend of mine once
in his NORMAL voice - tbh he seemed really intelligent.

Zanta is a Toronto icon.

I heard once he tried to start a petition to get his kid back from his ex or something.

He is always extemely noticeable around the holiday season doing his antics around the downtown core.

...but really what is this guys story? Schizophrenia?

...then where is his support system? I question everything, even the local nutter.

I'd like to know, too. Don't worry.

haha, it was jokes...people's faces were priceless. Just as the doors were closing he jumped back into the packed subway car though. mwuahaha

he rocks...and is pretty much harmless. I've never seen him do anything "bad"...he's just clearly not all there, yet ripped, so obviously not hurting for food or anything. I'd love to know his story.

It's my live/work neighbourhood...so I see him at least once every week or so. The other day, a co-worker who lives in the burbs dropped me off at home and Zanta was crossing the street (diagonally, lol) in front of us.

She had no idea who this guy was or WTF was doing (he was just walking at the moment, seemingly normal but jaywalking) so I looked at him, flexed to encourage him, and he just *went off* with one of his crazy routines.

the look on my co-workers face was *priceless*

This is such good documentry material. I wish I didn't have a job so I could just go out looking for him with a camera.

^^^ holy shit, ya!

some aspiring film student should do it up...Zanta, front and centre at Hot Docs or the Toronto Film Fest!

There is a documentary about another local freak called Flyerman who has a leather jacket with lights that say Flyerman and goes to every TO event for years.

One homeless guy I always wonder about is a black british guy who is always wrecked but dressed somewhat stylishly but has a noteable bandage on his nose, I remember that guy since I was a kid buying comics at Silver Snail, he has been panhandling in Queen St West area and Kensington Market. Legend tells me that someone has been giving him stylish clothes since the eighties.

Yeah, I've worked at the Molson Amphitheatre for about four years, and he's been to pretty much every show. And every single show, drunk guys freak out like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

When he stopped and actually spoke to me and a girlfriend of mine - in
his NORMAL voice - he was telling us about his website, and how
he had an on-site (work) accident where he fell and seriously hurt his back 5-6 yrs prior....said he hadn't worked and was collecting disability since then....

I'm tellin you, we could EASILY tell he was DEF intelligent....
Zanta's his act - and good on 'em

So he's too injured to go back to work, but not injured enough to run around the city flexing his muscles, doing push ups, going off like a crazy man at every opportunity?

Sounds like fraud to me.
