CDJ's and Turntables
Long story short, I accdently locked the thred.
So I'm restarting it.
Hey everyone this is my first post. I have a question I was hoping some of you could give me advice on.
I have 2 turntables (not dj turntables, just regular kind, direct drive) but anyways they have Dj carts/needles on them so they work OK for just mixing in house. The music I like to mix/scratch is oldskool hip hop, trance and house. But the thing is, Im only 16, parents wont let me get a job and vinyl is expensive. So I was thinking I'd like to buy some CD DJ units. I was looking at the Stanton c304, most places its about 399 but I can get it for 299 new. So I was wondering. Do any of you know if this is something worth getting? (mind you I only have allowance money which isnt very much) some day I hope to afford the CDJ-1000( haha someday)So would you say this is something worth getting? I figure if I get a CDJ I'll start spinning at parties and get some money to buy some real turntables and a new mixer, I have a numark DM1002x
So how is the c304?
start selling drugs

Im sure being in America the local mcdonalds will happily pay you $4.50 an hour

make ur papa proud
It depends on the state you live in. In Massachusetts minimuim wage is $6.75 an hour I believe. Man up and get a job =)
I don't know about the laws where you guys live but if your 16 your parents have to sign a form and so does your school. Its fuckin ridiculous.
but anyways I'm going to be getting a job this summer paying about 10$ hour, but after taxes its like 6.50$. Ya sure I could be a drug dealer, but at our school they have random dog searches like once a week and I'm not going to be put in juvie for selling drugs.

If i make 100 in a week i only have to pay 10. But i get it back at the end of the year anyways. Where i am you only have to be 15 to work. Supermarket jobs are l33T

Factor, I suggest you look at some CD players from Gemini, they're relatively inexpensive and work great for beginners, bedroom DJs, or DJs who just like to keep it basic and not fuss about a bunch of random effects.
Im gonna keep it simple, if its not a Pioneer, Denon or Numark CDJ... dont waste your money.
meaby you can find something secondhands on ebay ect.
thats meaby much cheaper
but be carefull and if youre gonna sell drugs tell me how much the are then

CDJ 200 hands down is probably the best CDJ for a beginner or an intermediate. It was made to be geared towards that crowd anyways. I mean it seems really simple, yeah there's effects and looping and all, but it also helps with the basics. It's inexpensive too (well for a good CDJ), only $399. Whats also good about it, is that it will last you. So if you did get good, you probably could make due with just that, unless you wanted to fork over the money for a CDJ 1000, which I did. Don't regret it, however it has all these buttons (the hot cues, the looping) that I hardly use. It's just the CDJ 200 is so small, that if you wanted something that is closer in feel to a platter on a TT, then the CDJ 1000 is for you. But beginners (i've mixed for 3 years so I think I know what I am doing...am not perfect though) should go for something like the CDJ 200 to get their money's worth, fo sho.
i should buy it cause look at this
HERE
or is this another one
