DN-X300 vs. DJM707

I had a chance to use the DN-X300 at Guitar Center this weekend. I must say I liked it. It's got kill switches and pretty good headphone cueing capbility plus booth out. I was also considering the 707. Haven't had a chance to use this one. No one carries it anymore. Either way I plan on buying "slighty used" off of Ebay. While the Denon is an entry-level mixer, I have read on these boards that the Pioneer is really a mid-level mixer with an entry level price. I mix only Trance and never touch the x-fader. I think the Pioneer might have a slightly better signal-to-noise ratio. Anyone familiar with both and can recommend one over the other?

I would go for the 707. I don't know this for a fact, but I'm pretty sure its a scaled down version of the 909 that retains most if not all of its sound quality. The 909 is known as a really good mixer, the only gripe being that its only 2 channel. On the other hand, I have a Denon X1500 and must say Denon makes solid gear as well. However, I'm upgrading to a Xone soon as I've outgrown the Denon, but I guess that happens to all gear eventually.

Hope that helped. -Max

I must say iv used the 707 and it feels like a mixer that is pretty solid.
Although it had basicaly no features (not that many 2ch mixers have any though) it seemed like a good 2ch mixer. Since your mixing trance and never use the xfader it might be abit of a waist because the xfader is great and it is designed for turntabilists.
