Girls and trance...

Have you ever noticed how few girls are in2 trance? I mean, look at the forum and i think 95 % of the members are male. So how does that come? Does trance music works on testoseron or something?

iMO, i believe that girls are more into the "gentle" stuff.
no hard-pounding trance from dumonde & gang..
maybe those sing alongs like iio- rapture, kosheen ...which isn't trance(in most cases)..

not only does my girl like trance... she knows every major DJ, can list most productions they've done, has memorised a lot of livesets (can tell by hearing it which one it is), even talks to some major DJ's through eMail, can dance, and is smart.

I think males tend to be more obsessive about their music and stick to particular genres even if they're not fashionable, and chicks (particularly young ones) listen to whatever's cool at the moment ... certainly I can tell you there was no shortage of girls that were into trance in '99, cos that was what was fashionable at the clubs.

I bet there are millions of girls that went and bought (for example) 'Clubbers guide to Trance' a couple of weeks before they went to Ibiza in '99, and haven't listened to them since, because they've been replaced with Craig David or Robbie Williams or Steps or some such shite.

girls DO like trance, but I think they don't feel like goin' to a site like this one: maybe it's to 'underground' or something. they like it in the weekend, like to dance to it, but through the week: they just don't care.

maybe it's also because girls surf less at the inet, and when they do, they search other crap,euhm shi., euhm stuff (pointing at some of those assholes that call themselvesa actors cause they appear to look well( nope, not jealous or somthing ))

i dont think girls are exposed as much... i've always played trance around my girls and they started digging it. oh and when i went to see sasha over xmas break, my friend and i met these girls. they didn't know what sasha looked like and they couldn't tell the diff between the prog dj that spun before him from his tribal sound. and just to drive home the fact, the tickets were $45. i don't know many girls that would pay that much to see someone they don't know heh

I was thinkin tha girls like trance MORE than lads! ITs more gentle and melodic than most kinds of music, and its easy on th eears. Girls like melodies and soft fluffy kindsa things, which is what i associate trance with!

BTW all the girls I know that like trance (my g/f is 1 of em ) are totally buff! As are all girls in trance clubs!

hey, and just one post from the female population of the forums! we need to hear your opinion, umm.. girls!

personally, i don't know any girls that are addicted to trance. there's one that i borrowed a sasha cd from, but she doesn't listen to music too much. my sister (22), though likes some cheesier stuff like atb, darude, and delerium, prefers to listen to hip-hop or pop (if she's home, and that happens as often as solar eclipses do)
i'd say the reason is in how the brain is structured --> males have slightly different brain cells than females (no wonder i don't like makeup!)

Kia Kaha, i agree, girls do seem to follow what's fashionable at the time

i totally agree with kolkiewolkie =)
most girls just dont care, they like the music and like to dance to it but thats it... no need for newest releases and latest tracks any big trance artist.
i also agree about the website/internet usage stuff kolkie and gekhous said =)

i think the reason why girls listen more to r&b is that its more commercial, 'everyone' likes those commercial 'trance' tunes too... i think the 'underground' hip hop sence has a lack of girls too
and if they dont..it is because those rappers have more money
