DVD Burning n00b question...

I need a program for Mac that will take a *.avi file and allow me to burn it to a DVD, anyone got any info on one?

The file is huge (700meg)

Besides, I just spent 2 days obtaining it and I'd really like to use my DVD burner for the very first time since I've had it (7 Months), but thank you much for the offer _Nut_!

Do you mean change an .avi to play on a standard DVD player, or just burn to DVD? I actually think this is a redunant question but lets be clear on this.

he's a bitch tho, tends to lie, I'd play it on the computer and record it on a camcorder then play it back through the tv wile recording it on your DVD player/burner it would be the highest possible quality then (it's on the net so it can't be lies)

Do NOT attempt to burn an avi file to dvd on a mac. I've spent a bit of time calculating the outcome of such an endeavor and well...here are my disturbing results:

I did not want to post this but since I consider you my friend I found it to be in our mutual best interest to avoid such a catastrophe.

You must pray to the God of War - Mars that he reorder the letters of His name to Arms so that He may hand down to you the appropriate software to perform the task you seek.

first off, theres an seperate subtitle file with the avi and ive never had experience with embedding them into the file before...

your only real choice is to get a divx player [dirt cheap btw]

or re-encode it.

I'm sure they do, and thats what you need.

There is a Nero plugin that converts AVI to DVD Files in which you would be able to burn the files directly but that means you cant give it menus and all that mumbo jumbo you see on DVDs.
