Suing Catholicism for False Advertisement

just heard it on Fox News. A man plans to sue the church for false advertisement and will pursue unless it can be proven jesus existed.

i think its cool

false advertisement? like... dont you have to be selling something

neat anyway

Posted by _Nut_ on Jan-28-2006 00:52:

Since when do beliefs and traditions become part of the sellers market?

jesus hated capitalism

I pay them $20 every week. I'm under the impression they are buying miracles from the Vatican

Anyone seen "the man who sued god" with billy connelly? first half of the film is abit boring but second half is excellent. About a man who sues the church because lightning distroyed his boat - he actually makes some excellent arguments, and obviously (as its a film) wins the case.

there is very hard evidence he existed. if i were the vatican, ide challenge the man to prove he did not exist, have it broadcast as a debate.

tough one. there is proof Jesus did indeed exist, proving he was the Messiah they made him about to be is a much harder case.

PROOF or STFU

Televison commercials should be outlawed. Stopped altogether. Everyone should grow their own McVegetable in the garden & learn how to make Mcburgers, McFries & McThick shacks at home.

we're falling off into the "is jupiter real? have you been there?" argument.
it is true that Jesus did exist as a human being. As we are all expressing is the debate to wether he really was a messiah/savior/alien/black guy/mascot

Excellent franchise choice. Would you like 3 child molesting priests with your order or 4?

Posted by SuspicionVandit on Jan-28-2006 04:13:

How much should he sue for? I'm guessing even going for 1%, the manager of the Vatican would have it vacated. Maybe toyota could buy the lot

do the romans have documents about jesus?

they did crucify him, so wouldn't they have it on paper?

Posted by mezzir on Jan-28-2006 06:52:

when it comes to debating the existence of god, the key fact is that the burden of proof is on the believers of god. i always bring this up when i get into religious arguments. this is the only thing i've found that counters two people going back and forth, one saying you can't prove he exists, and the other that you can't prove he doesn't exist.
i recently read a book entitled 'God?' , which was absolutely amazing. it's a point-counterpoint debate between a christian and an atheist, both excellent debaters.

go read it!
