Choosing a good massive mp3 player !??

So, i would like to buy myself a nice and polyvalent mp3 player. With massive storage on it cause me have lots of music and want to have lots of choice without erasing/transfering files each day, or even month

And here sounds to be a good reference place to have second opinions on mp3 players since everyone on this forum listens to music, and a good majority has an mp3 player, or knows someone with one.

I've already have a little memory flash one, but like i said, i want something like 40 gig and polyvalent.

Here's a quick list of some mp3 players available at futureshop ...

MPIO

The iRiver h10

The iRiver h340

The Toshiba one

The Samsung one

And the camnex on ... O_o someone knows this product name ?

I really have a big crush on the iRiver h340, cause of it's capacity to store image, texte, plays videos, mp3, ear and record radio, even a line in too ! The problem is that it has been discontinued in nortamerica i think. And if i would like some hardware like batteries or something could get a bit hard to find them.

So if someone has good or bad experiences with their mp3's you could post them here, and if you think i should go with my crush or not and council me on this one would be nice of u ...

EDIT : I've excluded the Ipod in the list cause i've heard a lot of complaints on the durability of it, and problems with the batterie too. So i've excluded it from my personnal list, but if you have comments on the ipod to make, feel free too !

Here's some advice form someone who just recently stopped working at future shop ! :P
Actually only the two first ones are available In Store as I know off..!
But personally from what i've seen , IRIVER does a great job !
I've never seen ANY returns for it..! Ive read alot of good good good reviews about their portable mp3's !
I have the Sony 6 Gb..Great player ! great sound ! but too little memory for my liking !

I didnt see the iPod on your list, I guess you're excluding it on purpose. I dont have one, I just got a mp3CD player. Does the trick for 50 bucks...

Yes, sorry i exlcuded it cause of the batterie replacement is quiet difficulte to do, and can be a big expense !

Il'l edit my original post to correct that.

Nice comparaison chart Light78, is it available in stores here ?

I've been using my ipod since 2002 and I have ZERO complaints...

The battery situation was resolved in the states, if you have the battery issue you can ship in the unit and get it upgraded to a new ipod within a few weeks. It's court ordered.

Hmmmmm.....didn't think of that! lol

I don't think it's at Future Shop and Best Buy. If anything you could order it online from the US.

That's cool to know ! ...

But if i go buy an Ipod now, will it have the battery problem resolved ?

And what did they do to resolve it ? The resolution is that the ipod company replaces it at their expenses ?

I didn't even hear of this battery problem....I've never had any problems with mine.

What happens exactly? It just dies?

Another Future Shop Tip..Creative is indeed Amazing !No matter what the Mp3 is , a 512 or 1g or the new one ! They are top of the notch !unfortunatelly it's not available yet at FS..I guess U just see what's good or not when working on a day to day basis with these products..! This is where my hate for IPODS comes from...THE number of complaints and returns I saw and got ! HORRIBLE!

And for my 6gb ! I love it ! Cuz rly..i didn't need anything extra besides something to play my music ! it does the job great !

I have the sony HD5 (20g) and its working great. + they're technologie for compressing files (you can also just put them in mp3 format) works great so you can even put more music on it and the sound quality is amazing.

And battery's last a good 30 - 40 hrs until you have to charge them again with usb.

And easy to use and its so damn sexy!

YEA YEA..The battery thing has been talked about everywhere! On a day to day use it dies maybe after 1 year and half 2 years.
Although when U buy a Product Service Plan with FS they guarantee u a battery replacement if it's life spand goes below 50% of its original power.

Between this forum and me..they'll never replace your battery !
So just don't buy the damn thing !
And go with a great Iriver which is my fave !
Or wait for the new sexy creative !

Actually I was working in Switzerland this summer and they released it early there. But you can buy it here too at least in the US I know they sell it. (Amazon)

Its 20g and still smaller and thinner than the ipod mini. And the battery life is just amazing.
