after messing around with ray's cdj-800's, even though the 200's dont have as many options... they are PERFECT for just getting started. highly recommended. i was in the zone from noon until dinner time yesterday.

sean miller better watch his back now, or he'll be doing warm up sets for you once sonic opens up

and yea, i've been playing around on ray's decks whenever i get a chance to as well, and i'm really leaning towards buying my own set too; these seem like the perfect starter CDJ's; not very expensive, but enough functionality to get the hang of using CDJ's.

Posted by Orko on Jan-30-2006 16:49:

mmmm...decks.

If thats what you paid, I am going to start saving now!

I heard there are problems with the pitch on CDJx200 whenever it gets overheated.
Hopefully yours will be fine

I got the text just after i finished. lol.

Posted by Jem_hadar on Jan-30-2006 18:26:

Congratulations, Jeff. That's great. You're going to having a lot of fun!

And I LOVE the names. That's _exactly_ something I'd do! Well done! ^5

Hah! Nice.
As for the decks I need a pair (or just one) of them without the mixer...starter cdjs I figure until I get the hang of them.

You mean RJ's CDJ-800, right?

The only Pioneer accepted "bug" with the CDJ200 is that it uses an old version of the LAME codec which has issues supporting VBR MP3 files.

As long as you code all your MP3s CBR you should be fine.

Pioneer plans to release a firmware upgrade (someday).

hehehe, well then props to her for that

Congrats dude, I'm makin the move to CD very soon. As much as I like vinyl, IMO there are so many more possibilities with CD, also it's way more convenient and cheaper.

I'm lookin at 800's instead of 200's tho.
