Spacing contributor and photoblogger Adam Krawesky of www.inconduit.com is everywhere in this city. On Tuesday, he captured a confrontation between an aggressive car-owner and a cyclist, something rarely seen on camera, but a regular occurrence all over the city.

According to Adam, the story goes like this: Motorist throws food out of window; Courier riding by picks up food and throws food back in car; Motorist dumps coffee on courier; Courier scratches car with key. And then the sequence of photos.

I think the most interesting aspect of Adam�s photos is the 100-plus comments on who is to blame. While most are sympathetic to the female courier, some dislike the righteousness of throwing food back into the car, while others think she did nothing wrong at all. Others note that the actions of the motorist are considered physical assault, while her responses never endangered the dude. Some wished she used the U-lock, tucked into the back of her pants, to ward off the angry mofo.

wud an ass, i saw a courier take out the window on a cube van that cut him off on yonge with a lock once, guy didn't even miss a beat and kept on biking

He had driven half a block and decided that the scratch was worthy of a more thorough beating I guess. Now for a bit of clarity on a couple of things... The blonde girl is his girlfriend...she also makes a pretty good shield from an angry mob! I was NOT punching anyone! especially not with keys in my hand! I was just trying to save my bike (I just built it a week ago!!) And as for the police charging him.... He took off in his car as soon as he heard the sirens....they chased him down but it is not a crime to leave the scene. They were going to charge him with a variety of things including assult with a weapon x2, mischief x2, aggravated assult, etc, but the police informed me that if I went ahead and placed those charges then they would have to charge me with mischeif for the scratch. So in the interests of good karma (and my own sanity) I have opted to "let it go" and allow the universe to repay this angermanagement case in its own way. And finally to those who say that i must have had a sudden case of self ritousness in regard to littering.....YOU ARE WRONG! I hate littering and NEVER do> In fact I am constantly picking up litter and make my son pick up litter at the park. I just feel that it is such a fixable issue in the world today. If everyone would not throw their own piece of litter then there would be none!! What a concept eh!? enjoy the beautiful winter riding!

Personally I think she did the right thing.

fucking courriers. i had one cock sucker bump into my dodge a week after it came out of the paint shop. so i cut him off and smoked him(diesel) and watched him fall.

if this was about littering, and littering alone, she could have picked up the food, put it into the nearest garbage bin, and cycled away shaking her head at him. Maybe he'd yell at her...or laugh at her...so what.

the moment she OPENED HIS DOOR, she created an "incident" and is fortunate he didn't beat the fuck out of her...or worse.

I'm not defending the guy or condoning his violent behaviour...but she's an idiot who's going to get herself stabbed or shot one day if she continues to do foolish things like this.

Shes a moron plain and simple. Shes the one who instigated it and provoked the whole ordeal. If you dont like litter, just voice it. Dont throw shit back on people.

try taking on that crusade in scarborough or Jane and Finch, it would be much worse, yeah the idea and logic behind why she is doing is fine and wonderful, but in reality you are just pissing people off....it doesnt matter at all whether they are doing wrong, all of a sudden the litterer becomes the right person cause some do gooder is pissing you off.

I'd have thrown it right back in her face, out of sheer embarassment.

That **** knew he was in the wrong. At the end of the day no matter what she did you dont attack a girl unless you are one.

That guy was a coward and a twat!

PS if he had attacked my friend jenny while she was riding she would of beat the fuck out of him( she is a muay thai champ in ontario)

Not that I condone what the guy did ..[I saw this thread both on Tribe & Citynoise btw].. I can see that people have fallen for the old "What applies to one, does not apply to the other". It's sad to see that in today's "progressive", "advanced" society... violence towards men is still acceptable yet naturally violence towards women is obviously unacceptable. That is NOT equality.

Now the obvious. Yes, no matter what, the guy should've never assaulted the girl.. but since she actually threw the food back in his face, she is the instigator and initiated the whole event. In the eyes of the law she would also be charged. I am a strong supporter of earth friendliness, however, I think it's absolutely wrong for people to try and impose their beliefs/ideologies on others. She crossed the line the second she decided to be Miss. Mother Earth and acted in violence. "Violence begets violence".

A quirky retort and/or simply pointing it out would've made her all that more of a "CITIZEN" than what she did. Either way.. funny to see that it made the front page of the Toronto Star.

I'm not defender her actions either but his actions are way over the line.

It's not what happens it's how you deal with what happens that's important here.

They were both clearly wrong, however he crossed a legal line by pulling the dumbass move of assault (not once, or twice but almost three times!).
