Dunno Spring is coming--thinking about nice cars

So with Spring aproaching I thought I would start a car thread
(ok its weeks away but I need to get out of this SAD's mood)
Most people know i have a passion for cars and If you didn't , well I really do !!

I was thinking of buying an early nineties Japanese car , 91/92 specifically ones I couldn't afford back then
ie Last of the TT RX7's , Supra TT, Dodge stealth/mitsu 3000gt TT AWD, or do I bite the bullet and Import a 92 JDM Skyline R32 Nismo

I know I will probably have to sell something to afford it , but I don't know if this is an itch that needs scratching or just boredom

reality I should wait for the spring and spend money on the vette to give it more power (nitrous SLP supercharger etc) but that won't satisfy the want for cars I once couldn't afford. i also would love to have a 1977-1981 Trans AM in mint condition as well as a 1973 Toyota Celica in perfect condition (my first car but a total pos rustbucket) or even something wacky like a french Matra simca Bageera (they had 3 seats in a row and looked a little like a de tomaso--if you had a vivid imagination)

well i've written enough , any thoughts , and what cars did you want first and couldn't have/afford also what was your first car (correct me someone if theses has already beena thread on this)

Luv ya all

I'm actually in search for a car too. Been looking at an Integra Type R or an E36 BMW M3, which both are hard to find in good shape for a reasonable price.

If you can afford it, import the Skyline!

I'd almost consider selling my soul for an E36 M3 in TechnoViolet with the orange interior. It's hard as hell to find BMW Individual E36s though, and most of those are the rare 4-door bastard M3s

Get a '93-95 RX-7 with a blown 13B and throw an LS1 in there. Total sacrilege but my god, LS1 RX-7s make my pants tight. Skylines are great and all, but have fun with parts availability and riceboys drooling over your car every time you put gas in the damn thing. Not to mention theft.

Or how about a nice '70-72ish 240Z and throw an LS1 into that? Fuck, is there anything you can't put the LS1 into that won't make it awesome as hell?

Or get a motorcycle like I plan on doing... Hell yeah.

Very true. I'm looking for Estoril Blue on Dove White Interior. There's actually several out there but usually no one wants to sell it.

I've also got a for E30 M3s. I just love the way they look, with those flared fenders and BBS meshies. $$$ though.

1988 VW GOOLF N/A Diesel 45 hp yo.

Posted by VERTiG0 on Jan-30-2006 21:40:

Oh yeah techead, if you don't want to kill yourself every time you have to work on it - don't get a 3000GT. Fucking nightmare cars to work on.

Speaking of motorcycles, I wish MV Agusta sold bikes in Canada...

It's time for a convertible

Get the Saturn Sky instead. Looks quite a bit nicer and with a nicer interior and a few more options for a few grand more. Or get the new Mazda MX5.

DEFINETLY, FOR SURE, WITHOUT QUESTION, get the Saturn Sky.

Cale and I have talked about this before, lol. WAY nicer looking car than the Solstice. It has nicer lines overall, and the interior is beautiful. It's pretty comparable to the Vauxhall VX220, except for the engine.

It does have sharper lines. I will check it out....the thing is I will get a great price on the solstice....it will probably cost me aroun $8,000.00 more for the Sky.

Yes it does look similar to the VX220/opel speedster , but they are way better cars, mid engined , turbocharged and stripped down light weight , the problem is N America would not except a spartan car that gives up luxury for performance.
Every time I go to visit family in the UK , i drool over the VX220

If I was to buy anything this spring it would be a project Mustang.

I have never had as much fun in a car as my 5.0. Mustangs forever!!!

Now that I'm a little older than my 5.0 years (and less about speed and more about style) - I'd be looking for an older one (64 to 67) with a 260 V8.

Edit: Maybe I'm not about less speed... lol. Give me the s-code 393 stroker!

I thought that the 260 was only available in the early 64's and then they were all 289 cars
I would love a 67 K code car fastback of course

Okay, LS2 or LS7? Is that okay? Heheh.

Oh wait, 20B? Mmmm.

If I had the money to buy an older car, I would buy either a '69 Shelby GT500 fastback, or a '44 Willys coupe then chop the roof, shave the latches, and drop a blown big block chevy in it.

Yes, the 260 was dropped in 1965 when everything moved to the 289.

Never have I thought that in my life I'd see Saturn churn out convertible, much less one as good looking as the Sky.

Oh you mean the 260bhp turbocharged 2007 Opel GT.

Posted by Soundwerks on Feb-03-2006 19:50:

last year, there was an R32 Skyline GT-R for sale at Mazda on Dufferin...I think they were asking like $20K or something. If I didnt have a car already, I'd jump on that!

I think theres a dude in TO who imports and sells older Skylines...most around $20-30K!!!

GET ONE!!!!1
