Really nice production. I havnt heard much minimal psy before and this is an interesting take on it. Definately dark but warm sounding like you say. Although I'd like it more if some of the sounded were fatter or more compressed. Also some of the elements are a bit 'straight forward'. It would be nice to hear some real glitchy textures in it, perhaps in the percussion? Anyway, just ideas.

Really like that synth at the end. It contrasts perfectly to the rest of the track.

Good work so far

Strange intro.Unusual but lovely
Bass alone is very muddy but when seq start it's ok.My only complain is about kick but I'm still not sure for that cause I'm afraid that if you change the freq maybe you'll loose the dark feeling of the track.
I don't like also that you play so often with the pich of snare. If you like it this way put some delay on it when you push it upwards.
Fxs and backgrounds are amazing
The brake at around 2:00 is very cool man Very dark and tripy.Scares me a little hehe! This dark image is broken (for me) when at 3:44 you go up with notes.I don't like that so much. And the pitty is that you continue this way...
Vocs are very psychedelic
Generally is a very good track with very nice production.I would like to download it but doesn't leave me the way you play with the notes at the point I'd say before. For me try on this with the synth you use at 5:30 leave everything else as it is (cause are really nice) and you'll have a boom

See you mate

axolotyl- hey... thanks for the review... i know what you mean by straight forward kinda something i can't seem to let go of.... i'll make it a little glitchier....

sparkunian- heh... the kick has a little reverb on it... i'll turn down, or turn off the reverb... arrgh, those notes i see what you mean... upo further listening.... they sound like a load of crap... i'll try something else....

heh.... don't all talk at once guys.....

Cool acid intro.

Sample is trippy. I like.

Kick and Bass both sound really muddy. Might want to define them a bit better.

Cool old school time stretching in the break.

The kick and bass could play more often. This one seems like one long break down with some lowkey percs every so often.

I like it. I think it would make a nice intro track to a psy set.

trippy track dude, this is good smelling improvement .

really liked the acid sounds, couldnt you have made the sounds fatter , amazing drive :P

There isn't much left to me to comment. I can hear some nice ideas (like with that snare pitch, but i think it would sound better when just pitch-shifted). Also the bassline is driven in an interesting, kind of mind-twisting way, just like it suppose to be in a dark minimalistic psy track.
I somehow don't like the name tho
Very solid work, full of ideas. 8/10 imo.

jex.... thx heh... glad you like it. maybe i should re render it and give it to cybernetica for his mix... the kick and bass sound fine... maybe your listening through an eq??

cola... i'm working on a 133 mhz computer... figure it out. thanks for the review

honzi... glad you like it... sorry you don't like the name. i was listening to it one day .and the word "apes" popped into my head .

I like your bassline a lot. You've got some great acid inside here. It's demented. Good job

This is really trippy and I would really like to have something like this in my mix. Could you improve the mastering a little? Add some compression to the percussion maybe. The whole thing could be a little more upfront. If you could fix this, I'd use it in my mix

133 mhz comp

dang even my koss ur 40 sounds fatter .
well track is still pretty sweet! would be incredibly nice with a really full sounding acid sounds! it almost has some IM'ish character to it..

ill download the demo of fl tomorrow and ill work a bit on a psy tune.. does it have to be a full track cuz that might be hard on the demo , ill still make it round 5-6 mins though.

Posted by canadian didjer on Feb-08-2006 23:21:

ya... pretty much has to be a full track . oooh... yeah i try and stay away from sounding like others ... thx anyway.
