What are the chances... 2006 Olympics

Of seeing another DJ for the opening ceremonies this year?

I personally don't see it happening. I can't see them having Tiesto do it for a 2nd time. Or even any other DJ that can really live up to the expectations.

any other comments?

Richie Hawtin has done some stuff for the 2006 opening ceremony.

Tiesto ruined what could have been a good ceremony, and a different dj is not the solution.

Tijs is the only reason I watched the fucking shitty endlessly dull ceremony.

I thought the music was slightly inappropriate for an Olympics opening, but there you go. At least it was remotely interesting that the powers that be wanted to open the Olympics with trance. He only played music at the end of the day - suggesting he "ruined what could've been a good ceremony" is absolute bollocks.

1. He wasn't a prominent enough figure at the ceremony to ruin it.

2. Let's face it, it was never going to be particularly interesting anyway.

Wasn't PvD supposed to be doing the World Cup this year, that's what I read back along on the forums? Just checking if it's true.

tiest0r didn't ruin the ceremony, but he didn't make it any better either.

sides, usually countries get their own musicians to perform. since when was tiest0r greek? oh wait, he's not a musician. move along now...

why could you possibly care about the ceremony itself?

Exactly.

The ceremony is nothing more than a ritual/tradition.

Posted by RapidFire on Feb-03-2006 02:57:

I quite liked Tijs at the ceremony. I just clicked on the channel by accident and I hear flight 643 playing and I was like . Very cool moment.

I wouldnt mind another DJ. brings out the best of them. Maybe someone like Sasha playing some filthy Prog over the ceremony wouldnt be so bad.

Posted by Tayfoon on Feb-03-2006 03:13:

When it comes to Tiesto people will complain about anything

Cus every year the ceremony is super interesting and Tiesto just slaughtered it ....
