Last minute essay help please***
So i'm stuck here all night doing my stupid kinesiology elective paper on gender and sport. I need some ideas on male and female differences in the sport of track and field. my thesis is that i'm saying women are becoming better and faster at track but still dont' get recognition on world stage (i would never have pick this, my prof gave this topic to me, otherwise i think that women want too much lol jks jks). Anyway, who ever is staying up late tonight and is reading this please throw in some ideas, i'll definately consider those that make sence if you back it up in a few sentences.
Just wrote two 4th year exams earlier today (exercise physiology and nutrition). Hence i'm here all night trying to get this stupid paper done due tomoro morning and i just started!!!
stay in school even if it's not cool!!
help is much appreciated!! if someone makes a really good point and backs it up and i use it in my paper i will buy you a drink on saturday!!!! PROMISE!!!
You could argue that recognition on the world stage is dependant on the marketability of the athlete and the popularity of the track event in question.
i.e. 100M/4x100/Long Jump always get more media attention than Shot Put, Javelin, Hammer Toss, etc. In the 80s it was because of their success in those events that Flo-Jo and Carl Lewis became popular long after the track meets. Carl Lewis even had a rap video - lol.
And - when it comes down to a showdown of strength it is easier to market the male aspect of the sport - tying in with social norms.
Hard topic d00d. Good luck.
thanks del for some much needed help
i shall buy you a drink if i see you on saturday
and not for this crap but for your contribution to TA. we all wouldn't be here without you!!!
Women are also becoming well known for the fact that when attacked, they are encouraged to use their legs because they're the strongest part of the body for women. Which you could tie into running sports and sports that women use their legs with?
You're probably finished your essay by now, tho.
