i cant listen to the radio because all they spin is ktu all fucking day.
when im running i play asot.

I work out at my university gym and they usually play rock, rap, hip-hop, mainstream garbage. That's what I get for not having an IPOD.

Yoji!

Posted by spc on Feb-05-2006 07:26:

whenever i actually remember to bring my ipod to the gym, i usually listen to one of oakeys essential mixes from 99 or mixes ive made that are either prog or house

Posted by Vlad on Feb-05-2006 08:48:

If Im on the eliptical, anything that comes up on the mp3 player...

But most of the time lately, Ive been spending alot of time in the pool - Ive gotten some of my stamina back after 2 weeks of swimming, now I gotta step it up and swim harder.

The playlists I queue up usually consist of a lot of Opeth, Rage Against the Machine, and, more than anything else, Rammstein. I'll sprinkle in a few random tracks from all sorts of different genres, as long as they get the adrenaline pumpin, but those 3 are almost always on the tab.

Seb Fontaine - Creamfields 99...the first 3 or so tracks really get me movin and the rest of that set keeps the energy going

Depends on my mood, but generally some Psy.

House doesn't do it for me in the gym, i play random trance sets for lifting/running.

Posted by Ygrene on Feb-05-2006 22:50:

At any given time, I have 7 of my own mixed sets (mostly hard trance) on my mp3 player. I usually mix and add a new one every week or so I don't get too tired of them.

hahah - I love that stuff...

I'm usually listening to long live/radio trance sets that I haven't had a chance to hear to yet - a lot of PVD, AVB, G&D, etc. That way I don't have to mess around w/ changing songs. I sometimes throw in a little Alkaline Trio to mix it up.

I just came across a Yoji essential mix on my ipod while at work.. f'in awesome. Totally new name for me, but already gave him (?) a few stars..

I'm up to having about 80% of all the mixes (93-today). I set the ipod to get a few (50) random ones on every sync. There are some crazy good old school ones..

I haven't been to the gym all week because my ipod was broken and I can't stand the music there!!

I just got it back today!

I run a lot so I make playlists by how many miles I am running and how fast I plan on running.. so.. if it's a really long run I have all songs that pump me up at the hard those miles..

I'm training for another marathon and my weekends are spent running.. so at least I can hear good tunes on my ipod..

Can't go to any clubs because of the running so I find myself reading these boards a lot so I can at least here about everyone elses good times!

Posted by Taub on Feb-09-2006 05:50:

what type of headphones do you guys use? the ones that come with the ipod always fall out for me

Posted by jennifera on Feb-09-2006 11:17:

I have the same problem..
I use the Nike Vapor headphones.. they hook on to your ear and they are sweat resistant

you don't like the fact that NYSC puts out the occasional EDM track, like traffic?

on cardio, I'm usually watching ESPN or CNN...if not, then any Ferry liveset does the trick for me

sometimes, I'll listen to random essential mixes when lifting weights

When I go for yoga class at the gym they have the power cycling class across from us at the same time. You can bareley hear it but they do play a lot of EDM in there.

The other day towards the end of class we were resting in shavasana when I heard them play Tiesto - Just Be. I must admit that I like the sound of that song, the flow, and the vocals. But those lyrics the absolutely terrible. I hate to be in vogue by being a Tiesto basher, but those lyrics must have been written by an eight year old.
