Personal Note From Tiesto

From Tiesto's Website and look what he announces almost to the end:

Living in Los Angeles
I moved to Los Angeles temporarily to get some rest and work on new music in January. In the first 2 weeks it was really strange for me to be in one city for so long but now I am really soaked in this lifestyle. Every day during the week I go to the studio and occasionally I go out in the weekends. I sleep 8 hours a night, eat 4 times a day and go to the gym 3 times a week. My body doesn't know what's happening! No crazy late nights or spending hours and hours in planes. So I feel like a champ at the moment!

I am working in several studios in Hollywood and with several producers and singers/songwriters. Hollywood is full of them! So much talent in one town... One of them, Brian Transeau (BT) is one of the best producers in the world. I've been a fan of his music since he produced Mercury & Solace, so for me it's a great honour to work with him and also very inspirational. He is a crazy multitasker, working on tracks with me, meanwhile doing 2 movie soundtracks, circuitbend kids' toys to get the most crazy sounds out of them, directing visuals for his experimental album and taking care of his sweet daughter of 2! It's amazing to work with somebody who is just as crazy about house music as I am. We have real love for it and that shows off on the tracks we make. We have a lot of fun, and that is essential for creating music. To be happy about what you're doing and really mean it. Brian and I are both very extremely enthusiastic people, and so we are able to show that to our crowds, just because we love it so much!

We were talking the other day about some other famous dj's who have the privilege to travel around the world, but when behind the decks look like some family member just passed away . While spinning your music for a great crowd, how can you look so miserable? The only way you can stand behind the decks and look like that is when you're not happy with yourself or with the music you play.

I had just a few gigs where I was not that happy last year, and of course people saw that on me. But the reasons for that are always technical, and never emotional. If my monitor sucks (which happens quite a lot), or my equipment doesn't work properly then I get pissed off. But never because I don't like the crowd or what I am doing. I found out I still have the same passion for dj-ing as when I started. Of course it feels a little bit different the first time you play for 25.000 people or the 10th time. But that's more about the expectations people have, then about me not loving it. I still love dj-ing more then anything in the world!

Meanwhile I am also compiling my new 'In Search Of Sunrise 5' mixalbum which will be released late April . I get send sooo many great tracks from producers from all over the world, it's crazy. I am gonna mix it here in L.A. in the next 2 weeks, so I am very excited for that as well...

So, love to you all from me in Los Angeles, and if you bump into me on the Hollywood Boulevard, don't be a stranger :-)!

Tisto

House Music?

Anyway, ISOS should be something to look forward too.

He's finally getting of his ass and doing more work. I guess #2 is not his favorite number. Tiesto is also coming out with a new artist album with BT producing some of the tracks. I'm really looking forward to what this will sound like. I can't wait mofos!

tiesto has been playing house and tech house since 02', this is nothing new people. i hope his new productions with BT dont take the form of Loves comes again, but i guess we will have to wait and see. nice to see a personal note from tiesto that was actually written by tijs himself and not someone in his camp. im real excited for his gig in march should be loaded with new tuneage.

I agree. what a sore loser tiesto is.

On a more personal note, id rather look like my dog died and throw down the house with a technically sound set than wave my hands jumping in the air like an idiot and blaming shitty mixing on a bad monitor.

what a f@g. Tiesto should have never been number 1 for so long.

lol..

Are you guys paying the 75 bucks?? .. Id go see him but damm 75 bucks pre-sales ouch!..

AS for him playing House music, its been a long time since he's implemented this sounds. No big news there.. more then likely he'll play longer of this sound.. perhaps the kind of stuff he played at prive?

And that's all I have to say about that.

very true... but

im more eager to see Tiesto than PvD..

wait.. maybe not that bad... but he'd be second..

DA doesnt like tiesto?

is it bad...if i like him??

Posted by Mattivi on Feb-07-2006 02:33:

the tiesto/ pvd feud just rages on... you guys all say he is taking a shot at pvd, when his last personal note, he congratulates paul for all he's done for edm, and if anyone(deserved) he was glad to see win it, it was him. but i guess he's a sore loser at the sametime. who really cares, what it boils down to is that pvd puts on consistently sound sets 80% percent of the time, and tiesto puts on consistently shitty sets 80% of time. but imho, its that 20% when tiesto is on his game that separates/ blows out anything pvd does. i concede that tiesto spins mostly dogshit sets these days(tho his mixing has gotten better) but when he wants to he sill brings it better than most, and thats why i remain a loyal fan. find out for yourself on march 26th, before you make any judgments, im willing to bet tiesto's set trumps pvd's set for conference. but i guess only time will tell.

It seems this part was left out :

"p.s.I just said B.T and I love housemusic because back in 1994 there was only one style of dancemusic named housemusic..So when i talk about housemusic i mean all the possible styles you can imagine."

might explain the house part.

Let's hope it's a one disc ISOS, and not two partials.
