Ferry Costen - Fire (Universe on Fire Mix)
Hello everyone,
I hope you can enjoy this tune. I'm sure most of you have heard Ferry Corsten's "Fire - Flashover mix". I just loved the bassline so much that I had to write a song around it! The reason for the name is because I mixed his bass with a recent melody of mine from a song called, "Touring the Universe". I tried to maek this song in the spirit of the classic Ferry songs, so I hope you can enjoy! I realize I have alot to learn about mixing, but I hope you can look past that
Thanks!

fantastic buddy sounds interesting, my interent comes back 2moz so cant download right now, if ure lucky i'll stay up late to review your track
but if not will review asap
Cool! I'd love to hear what you think.
I'll be uploading a few more tracks once I get a chance to review a few other people's tracks too. Kind of a two way street, yah know?
Nice one. Sound very pro already. Very well done mixdown and transaction. Need not to mention the great melody drive.
Just a suggestion, you may EQ a bit the kick roll to make it sound more driving. And the pitch LFO synth in the breakdown can be replaced with another richer and stable pad.
A very good track!
Yeah, those seem to be the major comlpaints star
I wanted this kick to be very punchy without being too bright, so I compomised. As far as that distorted supersaw synth, I was planning on a friend of mine doing an edit of this track. Usually I make something, and he uses his golden ears to make it sound perfect.
We ended up deciding to not use this remix, because we thought it would make a graet orig song. Thanks so much for the kind words, and your observations are spot on! I think I may ust fix the track on my own.
F*cking good quality. And the bass is great. I didn't like the melody, probably it's just too much of synth at the same time. But it's just me, you know
.
Really liked the quality of the track. Nice track.
Quality: 9
Track: 9
well track is not my cup of tea but its sure as hell a quality tune, the whole track is.. melodic, groovy, well fitting
.
cheers on a great track, only thing i dont like is the very light mood and percs might be a bit high for me.
Thanks guys! Yeah, I'm known to favor the high end a bit too much!
I'm glad everyone is digging the song. When I get a chance I would like to fix a few of the issues you are all having with it. (the high end, the dist synth, and the variety of waveforms) Thanks for the listens, and have a good one!
hey man, back again,
my nets's back, yay. sounds great but i think some things are too dry and sit right infront of you, like the bass and the melody from fire, while others sit too far back in the mix, but its not that bad a problem, just could be a lil better i think. at one point, the first break i think, it sounds as if at one small part it clashes slightly, might just be me tho. lol, now i think about it im pretty sure it just me, lol, sorry. so yeah sounds all pretty good to me, the bottom end does sound a little bit thin like you said, but not too bad.
nice work buddy
looking forward to hearing those other tracks of yours.
peace))
Roko, thanks! I'm glad that you like it. Also, glad that you got your net back
Hey man,
I like this song. The main lead is really driving, catchy. Kind of nice dreamy type of feel. The synths are high quality and sound very professional. The kick for me is way too thin...maybe bass as well. But, the song holds together nicely. Great work here dude. Keep it up!
Azndragon, Thank you very much! You know what's funny? I sat down in Reason yesterday and pumped up the kick and bass and did a mixdown... sounds really strange now! Maybe I will try again and post that version as well so people can decide which one they like better. Thanks again!
Yeh, way too much high end on those leads.
The fact that 50% of the track is supersaw makes everything really muddy. Try to limit to one element. Be more creative with synth sounds, too.
I like the detuning guitarish synth, though.
