Well I just finished listening to this set and I really loved it.
It's a nice collection of some of my favorite tracks.

Jonas - Do you spin at any of the local clubs (Seven)?

Thanks for the mix and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comment.

Man I wish I could get a gig here in Dallas. But, Dallas is afraid of letting new talent spin ANYWHERE! What's left of Dalls trance is hung up on Michael Jerome and Ragman. Hell, they even ran 12 inch pimps of at Seven. Sad sight, I must say. Miss the good ol' days at Seven. Hopefully trance will come back around here. I have something in the works for a couple of small venues in Austin once or twice a month, which is about all I can handle with a full time career first.

If you know anyone that would be interested in letting me wreck the wheels one friday or saturday in Dallas, I would be most appreciative.

Got any mixes you wanna throw at me?

Yes, I use to party my ass off at Seven. Then things changed and the crowd and music left.

same here

Hope it will all change. You know how fickle Dallas is. Everything moves in cycles here.

There are some decent underground groups that sponsor some really fun parties. You can probably find them on dallasnightlife.org

Do you have the cue sheet for this mix?

Nice TL! dling now...is there any way you can repost this with a higher bit rate or vbr even? Sounds pretty clean for being 128 though, but just thought I'd ask.

SORRY

Sorry mate. I don't know how to do that. But I am glad you like the mix anyway. Do you know how to change the bit rate? What is VBR?

recording the mix at a higher bit rate is usually just a setting. i record mine at 320kbps and then convert them down to 192.

vbr = variable bit rate

its a compression method that, as i understand it, uses the lowest amount of compression without compromising the quality. certain parts of a song are quiter or lacking higher and lower tones and then can be compressed more in these areas. so some parts of the song will be compressed at 192, 128, etc

If you recorded the mix into Sonar, Cubase, Pro Tools or any audio editting program, your mix will exist in there as a WAV file. When you export the track to MP3, if you have the option to do so, select 192kb/s stero (not joint-stereo or intensity stero....just stereo) and use the slowest option for encoding the mix. What I mean by that is your should see a slider between faster encoding speed and better quality..go with quality.

VBR is variable bit rate, dirk explained it the best. I might add that there are several grades of VBR and always go with the highest quality.

I wouldn't recommend this mate, you'll get a better quality 192kbps mp3 if that's the bitrate you originally encode at. When you use the 320kbps mp3 as a source it already has digital artifacts/distortion in it that will be magnified by a decoding + reencoding with the mp3 codec. If you want a 320kbps and a 192kbps copy, I suggest encoding both the copies directly from the original WAV.

I agree with ^^^The Village People^^^...they know what they're talking about.

Correct

Still don't think I can do that.

I use a Tascam mini studio and export my files as .wav to my pc. I don't think there is a way I can change the settings. It still sounds pretty good when I throw it on disk though. Thanks for the input.

Now, did anyone like the mix???????

Correct me if i am wrong, and knowing Ragman is far from perfect on the decks sometimes, but wasn't he the resident when Seven was more polular than ever? I thought so.

I think you took that the wrong way

I think you took that the wrong way. I know things were good when Cary was there. Never would deny that. But things have changed in Dallas and it is hard to get playtime if you are a trance DJ unless your name is Ragman or Jerome (which he really doesn't play trance). I like Cary and his music. I am just saying that people are pretty narrow minded in Dallas in the EDM scene. Know what I mean?

Posted by D Dubya on Feb-08-2006 16:13:

i completely understand. its scary when they run 12 inch pimps out of a club. those guys are awesome.
