Smile Tongue Review: INXS concert Feb. 6

I'm starting to get excited now!

Wheeee! If anyone had told me that I'd be seeing INXS again LIVE in Concert, I wouldn't have believed it. JD has brought my boys back to Toronto.
Full report tomorrow.

Enjoy Caroline. Its funny just a minute ago a workmate got all excited cause she scored a pair of tickets. I'll hear all about first thing in the morn.

I'm hoping to upgrade my seats with the help of a scalper, but seeing as it's a 2000 seat venue, I'm happy with just being there!

Where did your friend score the seats? on CHUM?

She got them from Massey Hall actually - from the few tickets that ppl canceled. She feels super lucky.

Wow! That is lucky!

INXS Rockstar answered the question of why Michael Hutchence killed himself. I would too if I had bandmates like that. RIP Michael Hutchence and RIP the old INXS. I personally cant stand when bands replace such key members to continue on under the guise of the same old band.

They've released a new album. Pretty Vegas was the first release. Afterglow is the second.

I'd hope that if I was in a project with 3 brothers and two friends that they'd continue on after I'd decided to take my life and/or accidentally died while getting myself off.

And it wasn't an easy decision for them. They've waited EIGHT YEARS. Michael is hardly rolling in his grave. He left behind a band. There were things I read in their authorized bio about how Michael had lost his sense of taste after being beaten up by a cab driver in Paris. He wasn't the same after that and was prone to violent fits and destroyed equipment in the recording studio.

The band was awesome last night. There was a real passing of the torch with the song "afterglow", which Andrew Farris wrote in memory of Michael. JD made the old songs his own. He wasn't a Michael copycat because anyone knows Michael isn't replaceable It was great. Simple staging as always.

Before they came on stage, there was a light switch illuminated on the black backdrop (to represet the "switched on" tour promoting their "switch" album), replaced with a 5 minute countdown clock, and at 00:00, you heard the opening harmonica for "Suicide Blonde" and the backdrop dropped and off they rocked.

The only disappointment for me was that they didn't play songs they've played other places, like "I send a message" and "Guns in the Sky" (they've never played "Falling Down the Mountain" or "Burn for You", two of my favourite songs).

I'm trying to win tickets for tonight and am tempted to get a ticket off a scalper to see them again.

Thank you for the review I loved INXS and I too was happy the band didn't die with Michael. I think JD is doing a great job. And now INXS has some Canadian Flair!!!

Talking

So true ---->"anyone knows Michael isn't replaceable" I am going to see them in Moncton on May 7. I can't wait!!! They are sort of coming about 10 years too late because I would have sold all my personal belongings to see them when Michael was alive.

Muzzybear, what is the name of this Inxs book you are referring to?

I remember the line "It's a Load of Shit" and just thought that was so awesome because they said shit.

"Story to Story" the first Authorized biography they've ever done. http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/item....on=books&zxac=1
It's a great read... I laughed and laughed at some of their party stories... "bat faced" is what they call it when you're really messed up on substances because of how your face looks. Like all scrunched up like a bat's face. Hilarious!

Read my review of the Detroit show, too!
