Need help finding trance music

I've been trying to find some trance music for awhile but when I download it it's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something like sandstorm and I can't find anything so can anyone tell me some artists or songs that I could get?

I doubt if sandstorm can be caleld Trance. It is more of a Techno track.

If you are looking for something like sandstorm, try looking for Zombie nation, or Benni Benassi - Satisfaction and such tracks.

i wouldn't say that. it's closer to regular trance (with irregular sounds) than techno.

I doubt that you have the slightest clue what Techno is.

Have fun.

Voodoo & Serano - Blood is Pumping and the pump panel remix of New Order - Confusion use the same punchy square wave acid synthesis as Sandstorm.

Alternatively, get Wippenburg - Neurodancer. Actually, get anything by the Liberator Brothers, DDR, The Geezer, Chochi, and the hard acid heavyweights. That's really what Sandstorm is: Hard Acid Trance.

It doesn't use a 303 though. It was named after the synth preset Darude used. And forgive me, but I honestly can't see the acid in Sandstorm in any way. Especially not compared to those two tracks.

afaik sandstorm has a subtle acidline running through the track.

SANDSTORM!

Ah right... the backing riff after the second breakdown could well be a 303, but like you said it is subtle- and certainly not the reason why people like this track.

No Producer uses an actual 303 anymore. All clones, hybrids, VSTs and softsynths come close to emulating the original box, but they aren't all alike, nor do they capture it completely. They each got their own strengths and weaknesses, they own unique quirks, their own special settings and features.

You know local acid techno Liva PA Mux on my forums? He uses a Roland SH-101 (the 303's forgotten cousin).

But it's still called acid, which is the all-encompassing term for that warped sound and similar-sounding ones. Acid does not mean 303, and hasn't for quite a long time.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Feb-07-2006 23:48:

I didn't mean a Roland TB 303 per se. I meant it in the broader sense of another synth that emulates the sound of a 303. My point was that I mistakenly assumed that you meant the lead hook on the track was done on an acid synth, when actually it's a synth preset called Sandstorm which is nothing to do with acid. Then I remembered the backing riff that is in the track, and presumably what you're referring too.

However, my point is that it's a very subtle element- certainly not overtly acid nor employed in the tweaking way acid is famous for (ie on the Confusion remix you named). Recommending someone acid records in connection with Sandstorm is a waste of time, because people don't like it because it has a subtle acid riff in there. No doubt that you were exercising your usual one-up-manship in terms of musical knowledge.

You can make that sound with acid boxes though. It's a simple square wave note fed through a sequencer with some multi-tap delay. Voila.
