Mauro Piccoto got AWFUL reviews for Ultra Spin in Toronto this weekend....Never seen him, but he must have been pretty bad because people were down right ANGRY about his set...

Almost feel bad for the guy....hope he didn't read that thread

didnt he get less than stellar reviews when he was at crobar last july... i havent heard many good things about him lately...

i still havent seem him spin live though so im tempted....

I missed him the last time at Crobar. Heard he sucked though. Saw him at Avalon before that and I thought it was a pretty good set. The people I was with liked it too. It's either this or O'Bir for me on Friday night. O'Bir is awesome, but there's just something about Techno that does it for me.

I think Picotto will have a great set this Friday. It's been a while since he played Crobar... he knows if wants to come back soon, he better turn that shit out!

I heard he was pretty good at Aria in Montreal this past weekend

Yeah and on top of that, apparently he played an extra 45 minutes into Blank and Jones set time (a toronto favorite) which REALLY pissed people off.

I think he might just play a killer set though, because it seems he has a lot to prove! And I hope he does it bc I just hate seeing a DJ get SLAMMED like that!! Its unfortunate, people can be cruel!

I was gonna post this yesterday but those Canadian TA chicks were a distration......back to Canada

Back in D.C. on Octobrt 2004 he was really into and he played a great set

But in July 2005 I did read some horrid reviews

On Feb.03 this year he got some great reivews and nothing negative


but then the next night Feb.04 I kpet reading on huge of a dissappointing and no energy into his set what so ever at the Guv people will judge because those TOTA's live for this

The Ultra threads also said he was really messed up on drugs (OK this is HEARSAY people, so i don't know if its true!!)

Most ALL of TOTA hated his fucking performance! He played very -mininal- techno (which doesn't appear to go over well in TO, esp. at Guvvy). I, on the other hand, quite enjoyed his set. But I'm a fan of Picotto...

He did look out of it though... and towards the end he really ticked off everyone by spinning for an extra 45-50 mins into Blank & Jones' given set time!

That seemed poor of him (though maybe there was a reason besides his own desire just spin for an extra 45 minutes). Plus his last track... MY GOD... it was killing everyone... sounded like he took the track and just looped the dang thing for 20 minutes!

Also, word from MTLTAs was that his set in Montreal the night before absolutely KICKED ASS!!!!!!!

So I dunno if its just the shit he was playing we here in TO hated, or that he just plain blew balls in TO and kicked arse in Montr�al!

Some friends and I drove out to Aria Montreal to see Mauro and JXL... He absolutly tore the crowd apart... Fantastic show! Highly recommended.

this definitely sucks
