Hey Richie

Cool percussion at the start , sets the atmosphere. I feel that bass could go down an octave maybe.
Nice kick too, and i like that gnarly pad as well, sounds really cool.
The melody is strange, but it is very cool indeed. Dark and mysterious I would say.
This is one of your best Rich, keep up the good work.

Posted by richg101 on Feb-07-2006 20:39:

thanx rick dawg

i played with the bass being an ocave lower. it went almost too low and ended up drowning my low pad a bit im not sure how to cure it so left it like that..

cheers mate!

another good effort rich...nice buliding mysterious melody with those pads and some interesting percussion combinations - i like dark trance, as long as it holds my attention and keeps building and your material does that - good stuff!

Hi Rich.

Some great perc's you got here!
Very cool melody! Very original.
I like the breakdown, dark feeling.
Nice fx's.
Your tracks really got a special atmosphere wich I like.
I love the name on the track. Imagine thunder, rain and a church
I think that the bass fits as it is.
I would like to hear a creepy and bright pad or a creepy background melody or something in this track. It looses something like that.

Nothing really to complain about. Keep it up!

//Alexander

the sound of the bass i really didn't care much for tbh. too thick, i think
the atmosphere/mood of this track is very deep and most excellent there is one synth in particular that i'm actually fascinated by. it's a rather short note/blip which is stretched out with reverb/echo (?) or similar. perfect element to the song
very good work overall richard. you're a busy beaver arn't you?

Posted by SebG on Feb-08-2006 02:52:

Another awesome song.

I just started messing around with Reason, and so far im just playing around with it. Its gonna take a while till i make my own song.

Tech-trance? No offense, but this track is weak. There is absolutely no energy to this track which is something that you would expect out of this genre. I don't like anything about it.

Raise those standards!

Posted by richg101 on Feb-08-2006 09:06:

cheers for checkin guys.

nills and seb - glad you liked it

stevieboy - sorry, this is the best i can do at my current production standard. i thought it had quite a lot of energy by my standards.... im usually very chilled. maybe stick with svd?

cheers for checkin guys

Cool percs in the intro.

Cool lead in the breakdown. I like the compression effects.

You can get on with it after a while, though. That break went on for a bit too long, IMO.

Good stuff otherwise. Nice layering and mixing.

Posted by Nomen Nescio on Feb-10-2006 18:33:

Hey Rich,

This track is beatwise already a lot better than your previous ones but I do not like the melody. Melodywise your previous tune tone washed was excellent I really enjoyed that one.

What I do have to compliment you on is your originality. Even though this is not my cup of tea and the melody really can't catch my attention, you do have an own sound and have an intresting way of combining trance with some other music influences.

Good to hear you are starting to progress percussionwise mate.

Cheers!

Posted by richg101 on Feb-10-2006 19:13:

thanks jex.

i agree the break is a bit long but i love a nice long break in my trax.

im working on some techno at the mo for the svd rmx comp so i guess ill have to leave out a biglong break.

thanx for listening.

nomen

im pleased you like the melody in tone/washed! i did send you the 320 didnt i? - it being played everywhere now! loads of people are saying they re playing it out

the church is quite similar to 'mars attacks' in melody sense. not very trancy, not sure what. the percs i had a little help with. my friend klems sent me some big loops from 'vengence' so those helped a little.

thanks for your kind words mate!

Great news Rich
I will check it out at DI.

Posted by Motion Twelve on Feb-16-2006 08:13:

hey richg,
very interesting track, you have really chosen unique sounds, specially that one high pitched percussion, the track has a nice flow and sets up a mood, i didn't like the coming in/out of the kicks (kind of not natural), nice and dark textures, would be cool to introduce some insane FX from time to time to spice it up,

also congrats with the radio play

Posted by richg101 on Feb-16-2006 15:54:

cheers mr motion

some nice comments there.

i have a habbit of cutting the beat quite a bit.

your advise about efx will be taken into consideration on my new piece. for the svd rmx comp.

thanx again mate

rich

Ok.. really really nice percs in the start.
but the kick needs more pump... you know.. more oomph..
bassline is a bit dry imo.. but it blends very well with the pad after a while!
(2:56 little electronic soundlike lead; is that a vanguard plugin ??) sounds cool really evil notes! not something im gonna listen to riding my bike ahhaha good tune but not your best I know theres more! congrats with your play btw!
srry it took me so long to review.. my internet is fixed just now hehe.. ill be uploading some stuff too now!

Cheers mate!

Posted by richg101 on Feb-17-2006 09:54:

cheers rico.

i look 4ward to your upcomin stuff mate.

Posted by linkmage on Feb-18-2006 14:38:

well done I like beginning, coz you want deep and big kick, but you waiting andwaiting...thas cool some electro elements...when main kick is coming for me need a little bit 50-200 Hz,but not much.harmonuy is for my taste, deep and sad.after break I would make only kick with much low-end,without percs...that would be amazing..(then break end would be also without percs)...great work
9.5/10
a lot power!!!
had pleasure

Posted by nhibberd on Feb-18-2006 16:59:

Here's me returning the favor rich;

- Strong on drums and percs. Love the way some if the percs togetherer with the BD sounds almost like a 4/4 cowbell, but not quite.

- Very dark. Works well with the guitar feedback kind of sound during the long break.

Overall nice work. If dark was my style this would be a favourite I think.
