A.van Buuren- A state of Trance Yearmix 2005

Artist: DJ Armin van Buuren
Name: A State Of Trance Yearmix 2005
2 CD's
CD1: 44 songs,CD2: 38 songs
Total length: just over 2 hours.
Genre: Club/Mellow/Trance
Release date: 19-12-2005

Released just before Christmas this was nice gift from my boss Since i am a fairly big armin enthusiast it couldnt be a better gift. Here is my review:

I like this CD,cos it really shows the capabilityies which this Dutch DJ has(he actually lived 30 km away from me ).It feautres a total of 82 tracks divided over 2 cds. Some very good tracks are feauutured on this CD,but unfortunately, most fragments are only 1 minute to 1:30 minuts long. This is a pity, cos i would like to listen to them some longer.

It is quite well mixed, but it features nothing really new.If you listen to ASOT radio show everyweek and burn this on CD,and maybe cut/copy some pieces out of it,you would get the same,if not n easier to listen to cd.

As said, mixing is done well, but i feel he became a bit sloppy at the end of CD2.also a shame.

My overall verdict: This is more of a CD that is meant for the mre beginning softcore trance fans.It features good songs, but too short. It would be best as a list to download the songs.overall,it doesnt live up to my initial expectations, even though it aint bad either !!!It aint suitable for listening in a noisy environment, like on the bike or in the bus or car,cos of the kind of songs. You really have to sit bck and listen to it.I rarely listen to this cd in my exensive collection. My verdict would be a 6.2 out of 10.

sloppy towards the end? he must have gotten tired of sitting in front of his computer cutting and pasting the tracks together

also, what is 'the more beginning softcore trance fan' ?
I love it when people come up with new genres

you should write for a magazine

Thanks,

-What i meant was, that in the end,the elaborate mixes become much more simple (and easier).he plays the tracks, with a more sudden ending ->next track-> and then repeated a few times.

- I meant: People that dont know these songs, will absoolutely love them.but manuy have allready been featured on other cds and his ASOT 2005 cd. It just isnt anything new.If you are new to this scene, you will love it,but now this ruined part of the fun for ME.

TY for the compliment. However i dont have the time for it,since im in the middle of my exams, to end this bloody school and go to university.
