What are the techno Tracks being played in the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics??

They are pretty cool.?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Feb-10-2006 21:02:

The tracks are all specially written productions or remixes by Tiesto, who was the DJ who played them. The full set is available on disc:

Check it

Although I haven't been watching it, I think he's referring to this years Winter Olympics... I could be wrong though

Apparently he's sucking it up?

Apologies. I didn't know the Winter Olympics had started (it's not as if England is going to win anything, being in a temperate zone 'n all).

heard some good acid-oriented music when that "future army" were doing their thing. that was hawtin also?

Posted by Ishkur on Feb-11-2006 01:56:

The future army part was the best. It was hard, thumping DE9 stuff with harsh acid lines.

Best. Opening Ceremonies. Ever.

Posted by Vainqueur on Feb-11-2006 02:25:

I missed it. There's been too much talk about the god damn caricatures, so I didn't catch the date the opening ceremonies were supposed to be.

Shouldn't you be complaining that minimal takes itself too seriously? Or that we've had acid lines and beats be utterly played out over the past twenty years? That the Olympic Opening Ceremonies aren't underground enough or don't have enough hippy one-ness atmosphere about them?

Posted by Ishkur on Feb-11-2006 02:50:

no.

you haven't been paying close enough attention.

Posted by fitom tiel on Feb-11-2006 02:56:

i'd like to counter that on trancecritic if i may

Or your blatantly ad hominem opinions on trance, no matter how hard you to try and pass them off as factual, all boil down to this:

Be our guests.

Posted by Ishkur on Feb-11-2006 19:34:

do you even know what ad hominem means?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Feb-11-2006 20:05:

adj. Appealing to personal considerations rather than to logic or reason

Posted by Greedy on Feb-11-2006 20:06:

does anyone notice that this pic is backwards? Hendrix was left handed. Everyone knows that!

Posted by Massive on Feb-11-2006 20:14:

rumour goes that it's his right-handed twin brother on the picture

The only track that we recognize durring the whole ceremony was F.U.S.E. - Substance Abuse, Which was one of Richie Hawtin's aliases, Everything else early on was just plain old 70s disco music.

So now you know techno & stuff ? We all saw your attempts to ID the Marco Carola set on GDJB with about 12 IDs & a Border Community Tune

Did you make that up, or did you get that from the Dictionary of Incorrect Definitions?

Because it's wrong.
