ACUTALLy, do you have your own style?

you need to develop our own style; those tunes are overplayed, not to date my friend
keep evolvin..
i cant find any interesting and surprises in it... too much of a feeling it's been played...
need more variation...
true.
i listened to almost half of it and beatmatching wasnt well.
u did play some nice songs, but i didnt understand the flow or if there was any. it just felt like you were just taking two songs out of random and deciding to mix them. that doesnt take much of a skill.
it didnt feel like you were creating energy. a dj has to show talent and a form of art when mixing and i dont think you did that. yeah you could have mixed empty state well with the previous song but the energy just dropped low from the 3rd or 4th track of the set already instead of uplifting.
im not saying that you just have to play 'harder' songs as the track # increase in the set, but you have to create a flow. you can start chill then move to vocal and uplifting then hard and tech and back to some trance and end it the way you want.
i agree with the previous commentor as well, you have to play some unique songs or some songs that havent been heard alot. i dont wanna DL a set with the songs that i have in my cd case. but i dont agree with the fact that you should only play new tracks. you can always play some outdated tracks. whether rare or not, its good to include old track in the set once a while. it gives the 'oh shit' feeling to the listener. like mashing up smack my bitch up (prodigy) with punk (ferry) might grab a listeners attention and the listener can definetely enjoy the set at that moment. although these 2 tracks have been overplayed, it will still be nice to hear them together at the right moment.
dont take this too harsh cause this will only help you to become a better dj.
thanks for all the input. i've only been spinning for about 7-8 months tops and i have recorded every practice session since the beginning. i still need to find my style and perfect my beatmatching and programming. it is all a learning process and any criticism helps me to better myself so the more the merrier =)
like everything in life it is a work in progress and thank you guys for taking the time to listen.
Tracklist looks flowing, gonna check it out
down!
ps. dont you just love the m5gs? flippin sweet!
