it makes sense once you hear him lately when i saw him live at lush he was the same as the sets i listind to
none the less hes still a ledgend and one of the greatest dj/producers of all time hes just doing an alex ferguson and staying when he should of went years ago

Posted by glass on Feb-12-2006 04:32:

He his djing was unique, and of his own. Most of his production I wan't hugely fond of. Your right it is time for him to hang it up. When you see pictures of him these days. He has this look on his facee that makes you wonder if anyone is still there,

He's always been a technically shit DJ though. He just doesn't have big tunes to hide that behind anymore because trance isn't what it used to be.

its strange you say trance isnt what it used to be in my opinion its beter than it ever has been, take armin van buuren his tracklist is unreal and hes even beter live with tight mixing and big tunes then there is eddie halliwell hard trance master you dont need to say anything else about him

Posted by glass on Feb-12-2006 16:00:

trance is always going to cycle with those who like it. Every few years people will say "damn trance has really gone shit." Fact is most people don't listen to trance for more than a few years. I'm going on 5-6 years. I have my peroids were I just don't listen to that much trance. But I could say that about most types of music.

You come across as someone who has been into EDM for about 5 minutes. And anyone that is of the opinion that Armin van Buuren has an 'unreal' tracklist and tight mixing is clearly a bit of an idiot. The only thing 'unreal' about his playlist is how shit it is. And his mixing is about as boring and simplistic as you could ever possibly get, with the same easy and safe transition used every single annoying time. Then again, you have 'tiesto' listed as your favourite DJ/Producer, which says it all really.

lol somebody got out of the bed on the wrong side today all i can say is you gotta roll with the times pal its 2006 not 1996 and that era has long gone i duno mabey armin didnt shake your hand last time you saw him mabey thats why you have such negative felings towards him
and seeing as you have pvd(one set wonder) as your fav dj/producer i dont really see what point your trying to make about tiesto

I can admit that I have enjoyed some of Armin's stuff..but he isnt even within driving distance of being the best DJ.

Very true. And even with the same tracklist, some night still manage to be better or worse then others. He is great technically and good with the mixing but it's just something about him that is either hit or miss. With Armin, whether his mixing is a little off or not, its a great night. The tracklist is always amazing and different.

Mike, give it up man. You are stuck in your past and cant move on with the times. You are a minority here on this forum so the shit that flows from your mouth really doesn't matter to anyone anymore.

This coming from Armin's biggest fanboy. Go figure.

I used to be a bigger PvD fan then Armin. I eventually saw enough of his sets to make my decision. Thanks for playing.

Please keep this "Trance is dead" crap in the MD.

We dont need flamewars between old men who hate trance now and those that still like it.

Posted by DigitalPhoenix on Feb-13-2006 18:46:

Maybe the guy is bored of the same shit (Oakey) and he's
moving on to other things.
I hear he's gonna come down with an orchestra for Ultra.
No clue what that might do for the show though...

Posted by colonelcrisp on Feb-13-2006 18:51:

i still love trance, but i will admit Armin For the suck....

tight mixing?????? thats like saying tiesto mixes tight.... imo both of them cant beat match for shit.

as for armins playlists.... well if wishy washy shit is your thing than wallow in it.... but i cant say i enjoy them....
