Jon O'Bir Review???
How was it? Ended up staying in because I had to work today (still at it) and Christina took her first MCAT diagnostic this morning.
Yea somebody, anybody go? Im curious to know how it was as well. I signed up to go but couldnt make it. I was at a bar in jersey all night and got smashed for 20 bucks. I barely made it home let alone drive into the city in the condition i was in.
Very nice set by Jon O'Bir
Too bad there weren't more people there
The place is nice and has potential, so I hope there are more events there
btw, what happened to the raffle for Ultra tix that was supposed to take place that night?
What a great set!!!Begining slower after 30 min i couldnt stop dancing last song Strange world!!!It killed me;o))Saw him first time live.Nice guy very friendly got promo cd and few pictures.Left at 4am.I hope he is gonna be at Spirit or Crobar. Not too many poeple showed up:-((I would like to post those pictures but dont know how...anybody know?

got there at like 12:30/1
it was dead saw big mike with his records ha ha always got them
met i think enigma somethin sorry not too sure with names
music was good opening dj was playin good stuff
jon o bir came in talked to him for a few very very cool guy
his set was good but short seemed like only 2 hours maybe
played
perasma- swing 2 harmony
that kicked ass
and he closed out with strange world (requested by me)
i was going nuts and he was feeling it
over all i hate to say it but this event shows how bad the nyc trance scene is
i mean in philly every week they got great djs comming threw as well as la and people come out to support
i mean jon o bir is one of the most under rated djs in the world and no one showed up such a shame
p.s his feb promo mix rocksssssss
I'm sick and tired with new york being all about that gay ass house shit. I'm very dissappointed that people didn't show up. Everything was organized pretty good. The two opening djs were superb and jon o'bir ripped it. I thought more people will come with picotto cancelling at crobar but didn't happen. Hopeully next time a lot of more people will show up cause its a shame because gabe and dave put a lot of effort into organizing this event and i think they did a pretty good job.

LMAO!!!! omfg Quote of the Year belongs to.... Grekos!!!!!

I'm 25 years old and i know more about electronic music than the the both of you put together so stfu!!!!You obviously not intelligent enough to understand what i was trying to say!!!!!I never liked house like the kinds of morillo, tenaglia, roger sanchez, bob siclair and the like etc. which is what most new yorkers seem to prefer !!!!!!!!!!I've been following trance and progressive for many years because i had the privelege to grew up in europe where they appreciate the music more !!!!!!!!I just expressed my disgust with the whole scene over here!!!!!!!And its obvious i'm not the only who feels that way!!!!!!
I thought Chicago was the "house" city?

There's other aspects of life u know besides music!!!!! I'm open to criticism as long as it is constructive!!!!!!As for the other noob who answered, "Ade kai gamisou" The funny thing is that it might not have as much trance in ny as some of us but trance djs(tiesto, ferry, armin, pvd) draw more crowds that all the house djs combined together!!!!!!! As for my knowledge of EDM ask people in the tracklisting section and they'll let u know!!!!!!!!! |
wow, you just sound very dumb now. who's disrespecting music tastes? certainly isn't me. i'm just making fun of the way you came on strong with YOUR opinions of the music. i respect every genre of edm.
what you dont seem to understand is that YOU were the one disrespecting 'gay ass house shit'. why don't you follow what you preach?

| Originally posted by LuNaSeA the trance djs gather more at their gigs simply because they're the most popular. they are the most popular djs because trance is a gateway genre, ie trance is the genre that people get attached to first when they first listen to EDM as a whole |

| Originally spewed by DJ Eco of course im speaking in generalities, but the average European appreciates music (whether trance, house, whatever) more than the average American... |
